Thanks cyclonebri1, but how can I find out which gauge the ones I'm looking at have? There's nothing on the brand website.. just the measurements.
The majority will be 20 guage - 0.95mm. The difference is between that and 18 guage (1.27mm) is 0.32mm which is really not that relevant in terms of a kitchen sink. Yes OK, if you look at it from a purest engineering perspective then 18 is better than 20 but its a kitchen sink not part of a nucler power station!
Mine will go with quartz worktops.
As long as the sink is installed correctly then it matters not a jot.

    Cheers

Franke does exactly that square design, but on a much bigger model .. but yes, it's a designer issue :)

I quite like the Blanco one, and price is similar to Franke, so might go for that one.

    Thanks to all.

You might save a bit if you order from Germany - 400 Euros plus 15 Euros delivery to UK. About 350 quid.

Really? I would expect the UK retail of the Blanco to be at least 30% up on the Franke but I suppose it depends on the deal you are able to cut on the whole package.

    Hi OP

I would definitely go for the Blanco Andano, excellent quality and 22 mm radii corners all round. It is also quite a bit cheaper than the Claron sinks with 10 mm radii.

But with regard to price I have to ask why would you not be getting the sink from your kitchen supplier? As most reasonable kitchen companies would have an account with Blanco, and would hopefully do it at a good price.

We got a Carron Phoenix sink for out kitchen and have been really pleased with it. We paired this with a Hansgrohe mixer tap.

Tip: make sure the tap you purchase reaches well into your sink, so many only cover one corner of the sink therefore offers limited rinsing options.

Ahhh, again, you know my engineering outlook on stuff like this, if you think 18 gauge is over kill, remember it's over 25% thicker so is twice as strong app, you should see the framework that supports the undermounts, (tightarse here even bought a double and cut it in half as I wanted 2 singles).

The sink base is even chocked with 4 x 2 timbers, and yes it would withstand a nuclear attack, I'm under the sink when the 4 min warning comes through:D

Point of my comment is this, it's dam difficult to replace an undermounted sink that is under quartz or granite, so over eng if best by my reckoning, and I did once see a sink that had had an iron dropped in it :eek:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I haven't asked my kitchen supplier for a quote on Blanco yet, but I did with Franke and his price was higher than most online shops.. so I don't think he'll be cheaper. Will try though.

His price for the Franke one (the more rounded model) was £318, I can get the Blanco for less than that.. (then again I can find the Franke cheaper online..), so similar prices.
