Just open ebay.co.uk in a separate window.

Apologies - I meant their main website is in English, not the Ebay outlet but it's the same company.

I don't really mind, for me it's just easier to order everything from him, but it I save money buying elsewhere I will...
I really struggle to see the logic in a kitchen specialist saying that they are happy for you to buy products elsewhere - you might as well buy the whole kitchen elsewhere!
As an independent kitchen specialist I make sure there is no reason for a customer to purchase products we sell elsewhere, if the customer is having a kitchen from us then 95% of the time its the complete kitchen.
I had a customer not so long ago order the cabinetry and fitting from me but wanted to wait a while before he ordered the appliances and sink. He asked for prices on a quality branded set of appliances and a Blanco sink. We were I think £400 cheaper on the 5 appliances than the best prices he could find elsewhere then we were £30 more expensive than the cheapest price he got on the Blanco sink, he wanted me to match this price! Some might disagree with me but I politely said to him I would not reduce my sink price as he is saving so much on the appliances really what's the issue.

Is that your assumption or has he said that? Sorry but I don't believe it if he has.
Not only is it easier but you also only have one a..e to kick if and when things go wrong. How would you feel about paying your fitter waiting time whilst you spend your own valuable time chasing up issues with the kit you've brought separately - especially when those on-costs are equivalent to or greater than the saving you made in the first place? Don't forget that your time is worth £s too when you work it out.
Cheers
Unfortunately sometimes the difference is so great that it is worth the time and effort, but I admit, you need to make absolutely sure that you have everything you are supplying at the ready before installation commences
CK designer, not all your colleagues are on the same programme;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Yes often people don't put a 'value' on their time spent researching and sourcing everything which I think is wrong.
I think that everyone's time is valuable and I do all that I can to be 'good value' but more importantly save people time.
There are 3 main reasons why I think people come to us for their new kitchen; 1) Best advice. 2) Value for money. 3) Save them time.

CK
Let's assume you are genuine and honestly I think you are.
You would likely accomodate the OP, but the outfit she is trading with won't.
Now, and this is for KS's viewing too, another factor comes into play, at least it does if you are my sort of person. I'll call it the damnation factor;
The mood changes to "I'm dammed if I'll pay 30% over the competitions price, even if it does take my time"I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

There is another element at play. When you buy a kitchen from a kitchen specialist, an independent designer, you check out their references. Provided they havent changed their company name recently, or have CCJs outstanding they look good.
But should the washing machine fail in 5 months time, I predict you will be referred to the manufacturer. Or if they are being reasonable they will contact that manufacturer themselves. If you are dissatisfied with that manufacturer's response, will you be prepared to take the retailer to court for the item?
There is a significant difference in what rights you retain from a retailer vs under manufacturer's warranty.
Do you even have a specific price for the washing machine? There is a whole tangle to sort out before you know whom to sue, and because you have that personal relationship with the kitchen specialist, you may come to see his point of view. His point of view is that if everyone returns their faulty appliances to him, he will be out of business soon.
My advice is buy your electronic goods from a UK financially secure store, whether etailer or bricks and mortar. Get John Lewis to match the best price, and get their guarantee, if they sell what you are after.0
