Just Bought a Wii - What Games?

Options
Just purchased a Wii console from a local "things for sale" page.
It'll come with a few games, namely Wii Sports and Wii Party. We're planning to get Raving Rabbids 2 and their TV party too. We also have a Wii Fit and board on the way from a friend.

We're not really into driving racing games as such or shooting games. However are there any other sorts of games you would recommend? Open to any suggestions.

  • I know you said you're not into driving racing games but Mario Kart game is absolutely brilliant. It's obviously a racing game but its fun and has lots of minigames etc, is kid friendly and a right laugh to play. Definitely not your typical 'racing' game!

    Definitely recommend it

I haven't played my Wii in years but my favourite games were Resident Evil 4 (i know you said you didn't like shooting games but trust me this game is amazing, and built for the Wii IMO the shooting is very easy with Wii controls) Super Smash Bros Brawl (found it very entertaining), The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess (more about puzzles and avoiding traps than anything) and Indiana Jones (again made very easy by Wii controls).

Wii Fit is pretty good I think you'll like it, you might feel a bit silly running on the spot though (I did) :p, as is Wii sports I used to love bowling on it :).

Lego Star Wars and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean. Brilliant games, lots of fun, and can be played as one or two players. Got to have a decent think about things to complete the whole game - my flat mate and I could go five or six hours without realising, the games were so entertaining!

    Wii Fit Plus is good.
    Owed out = lots.
  • Pirates of the Carribean is pretty fun. You do pretty much just wave your wii-mote around like a prat though xD Not a lot of skill!

    Thanks for the suggestions before.

There won't be any kids using it per se, but it'll be mainly single or two player games. Sometimes four, but unusual.

Will take a look at some of them. Usually I am a nob and want brand new stuff but I don't mind with this now as I got the console and 5 games (all in cases / boxes) at a good price.
  • Anything made by Nintendo is normally a winner:

    Donkey Kong Country Returns
    Metroid
    Mario Galaxy (1 & 2)
    Kirby's Epic Yarn

    etc etc

  • Xenoblade Chronicles is epic. It would be top of my list.

Yes bumble! I have no idea who I am, but I LOVE YOU!

Xenoblade chronicles makes the wii. Such an amazing game!! I came here just to say that, and am so happy someone beat me to it.

    As consolation:

no more heroes 1 and 2, de blob, Zak and Wiki are also worth getting.

And obviously all them gamecube games if you've got a GC compatible version.
