Three are to cease including 150MB of 'free' data with each top up. Will probably switch over to Plusnet sim only at the lowest monthly rate of £5 now.0

Hi all,
I posted this in a separate forum section before realising this thread existed. Please see below:
BT currently have an offer on their SIM-only plans, for which I have broken down the annual costs (including cashback offers) below. All deals come with unlimited calls and texts, although do remember that non-BT customers pay an additional £5/mnth:
Data: 500MB
Cost: £5/mnth
Gift Card: £30 iTunes/Amazon
Cashback: £20
Annualised cost: £10/yr
Data: 2GB
Cost: £8/mnth
Gift Card: £60 iTunes/Amazon
Cashback: £40
Annualised cost: £-4/yr?
Data: 6GB
Cost: £12/mnth
Gift Card: £90 iTunes/Amazon
Cashback: £40
Annualised cost: £14/yr
Data: 15GB
Cost: £15/mnth
Gift Card: £100 iTunes/Amazon
Cashback: £70
Annualised cost: £10/yr
Clearly BT have not paid attention to the cashback they offer, as some more expensive plans end up costing the same as cheaper plans, or in the case of the 2GB plan, they're paying customers for the pleasure of their service. Of course, this assumes you are currently a BT customer.
Thought it might be of interest to anyone currently approaching their SIM renewal.

Those BT SIM only prices aren't bad value, especially if you go for an extra "family" SIM.
EE and BT are the same company:
BT offer spending caps on calls and EE don't (EE only have a cap on data)... the Digital Economy Bill that was signed into law on 28th April maybe hasn't reached EE yet?
EE are significantly more expensive since their prices rose a few days ago... EE are now probably the most expensive SIM only around.
For example EE 7GB, unlimited calls and texts £29/month on a 12 month contract http://shop.ee.co.uk/sim-only
BT 6GB, unlimited calls and texts £17/month or £12/month if you have BT Broadband at home.0 -

Those prices are extortionate! I'm with 3 at the moment, and paying £16.99 before cashback/giftcards for 12GB (albeit with only 200 minutes), ~£4 after they are factored in. How do EE stay in business ...Long-Term Goal: £23'000 / £40'000 mortgage downpayment (2020)0 -

I'm also with Three, originally for their feel at home as we travel to Spain several times a year. I have two SIM only contracts which were 12 months, but have dropped to 30 days as beyond the min term.
Three didn't include local calls while roaming (they apparently do now, but not shown in their T&Cs yet), EE and Voda did include local calls. EE have better coverage here at home (BT will also), Voda are hopeless on coverage in nearby villages, large stretches of road with no coverage, so they are a non starter.
Interesting times with regard to EU roaming, spending caps and monthly costs... I don't need to change anything but am always looking out for a better offer.0 -

NB. not on their MAX plan just standard 4G but fine as I live in the country anyhow.0 -

Presumably they can get a decent 4G connection where they live, not all masts are capable of EE's mid or top speeds.0 -

You go through quidco/topcashback for the cashback and claim the GC direct from BT0
