It is utterly depressing to get the email from MSE telling me I should stop paying more than £10 per month for my SIM. EE do not have coverage at home, so any deal that uses their network (or that of Vodafone, or indeed anyone but O2) fails abysmally.
  • £10 is only a guide at the end of the day it's what you feel comfortable paying.

You know that, and I know that. The long time users of this site know it.

But sadly that is not how the MSE email presents it. :(
Cut your mobile phone bill in HALF

It links to the Cheap Mobile Deals page which says
If you're paying more than £10/mth, STOP

Lack of coverage is not one of the valid reasons they give for paying more! ;)

Sorry but that bugs me. Just saying...
  • I have just phoned EE to see what best plan upgrade they could offer me mentioning the Plusnet MSE offer for £10 p/m they bettered it by 1p to £9.99 and unlimited texts and data with 5GB :D

NB. not on their MAX plan just standard 4G but fine as I live in the country anyhow.

MrsM is on the old 3G Orange Dolphin 7, 250MB/150m/500txt, which is about to go up to £7.50. Called to say switching to the Plusnet £5 for 1GB/500m/1000txt and they offered a switch to EE 4G 1GB/1000m/ULtxt for £4.99 which is £14.99 on their upgrade page.

I missed the Plusnet deal last week, but phoned EE to see what they would offer me to retain me and they offered me:-

Unlimited Mins & Text and 4Gb for £9.99 per month

    On their Max Plan

Roam like home (in Europe) & BT Sport

    12 month contract

Not sure if it allows teething....

Is this a good deal? I'm not into BT Sports and don't travel to Europe so they aren't worth anything to me.

What is their Max Plan how quick is Plusnet 4G

    I've found a Plusnet Deal for £12

    Unlimited Text
    2000 Mins
    6Gb Data

On a 30 day contract with teething

Not sure which to go for....

Their Max Plan's allow up to 90 Mbps data download speed, Plusnets is just the normal 4G speed (I get up to 24Mbps).

Which is best is entirely down to your usage (nobody elses), note that PN don't support shortcodes at the moment which can be a deal breaker.

Be aware with the EE deals you will be billed for full plan price with a loyalty discount so any future price increase will be based on that full price. So MrsM's deal will be, say, an increase of 2% on £14.99 instead of the £4.99 she is paying.

On the plus side the Orange refund equalled the first month EE payment, more than she was actually due pro rata.
