Thanks ZhugeEX
I'm currently on vodafone. I email a lot and go on FB so that is why I would like some data. According to sons I would need about 500mb. I would use the phone a lot more to use the free minutes - and not use the landline. Also re ovivo and other contracts. What would happen if you happened to go over your limit of minutes ? Do they just charge you extra? or once you reach your limit can you not make any calls or download things?
Your help is much appreciated.[FONT="]

If you go over your limit then you'd pay extra on the direct debit or from the top up credit. Three and Tesco are the only networks that allow you to truly cap your account. And i agree at least 500mb minimum is a good place to start.
Giff Gaff do a top up service (runs on O2) where you pay £10 and then get 500 mins, unl texts and 1GB data. This lasts for 30 days. If you hit your allowance then it won't let you go over unless you add credit yourself. It's quite a good service IMO. Remember to check signal on O2 first by asking friends/family in your area and also trying it out yourself maybe.0 -
These people http://www.thepeoplesoperator.com/unlimited/sim-only are now offering what appears to be a reasonable 30 day deal. With everything unlimited for £14.99 a month.
But take a look at their fair use policy.
"Our Fair Use Policy for Pay Monthly (SIM only) customers
"Our unlimited bundles for Pay Monthly (SIM only) services are subject to a fair use allowance of 1500 text messages per month for Unlimited SMS tariffs,1500 minutes per month for Unlimited Minute tariffs and of 3000 Mb per month for Unlimited Data tariffs. If you exceed these allowance amounts we will charge you for the excessive element of your usage at the rates set out in your PAYM standard price plan. We reserve the right to review these fair usage levels from time to time. The allowance set out in this fair use policy is based on inclusive minutes, texts and mobile internet browsing in the UK."

I've gone for the TalkTalk deal at £3.75pm (12 months) for 300 mins 3000 texts and 1gb data. I can't find anything near it so I'm going to risk it. Just waiting for my sim card to arrrive now.0

Silly question but i'm with AOL yet my direct debit now says "Talk Talk". Would I be classed as a talk talk customer even though everything else says AOL?
No, Ovivo have a top up account where you add money. They don't take any money from your bank account. They take it from the money you add to the top up account. Once that money runs out you need to top up more.
Not sure about the AOL one. Only way to find out is by entering your home number on the checkout page to see if you're eligible0 -
Why did they close the HUKD thread?0

Why did they close the HUKD thread?
I have no idea mate.
Second time they've done it.
First time they had a reason. This time they don't have a reason. I'm trying to get it back.
IMO (and based on emails back and forth) it seems HUKD aren't happy that the deal is on an external spreadsheet as it means that they don't make money from affiliate links. So they're trying to find ways to get it off their site.0
