Hope things progressed how they should.
Just in case things aren't up and running on the 17th August, Sky are making their Sky Sports 1 channel free to view this Saturday.
So as long as your Dad has Freeview in his TV then he can switch to channel 11 (a channel called Pick TV) which is handing over to Sky Sports for the day.
Sky's way of taking the gloss off BT Sport's first day of the Premier League.0 -
I enjoyed the weekend with what BT sport offered and the quality online was perfect.0

Stupid question but for the money quoted on here your father could get sky and sky sports. He doesn't need broadband and phone line, plus much more football on sky0

You're not wrong leon103 but, value aside, for various reasons people don't want or can't have a Sky dish.
Given that the choice was BT Sport the main thing was to help the OP get it up and running.
I hope it is now0 -
Agreed with the sentiments about BT Sports. People should be very wary before entereing into any contract with BT. They are notoriously bad at customer service and don't give a hoot. My advice- GO ELSEWHERE.0

I've been trying to get BT Sport over broadband for 3 weeks without success. Have spent hours talking to BT technical support going through the same routine and I still can't receive Sport. Am concerned to read clarecymru's post that speed required is now 3-8 Mb/s when BT's original requirement was 500Kb/s and I only get 1.25Mb/s (used to get 5Mb/s before switching).
So if anyone out there is thinking of taking BT Broadband, think again as customer service is as bad as it gets. Take a look at BT Forums.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
I suppose I am lucky. I got the Sky "pay once, watch forever" deal, just typed in the card number and there are now 3 sports channels for free.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

BT Vision has always required a minimum line speed of 3Mbps. And its now 4. So you can't get it via that route.
Can you view the app OK?0 -
