BT Sport Complaint

That makes sense VisionMan
A lot of the marketing is pushing Infinity plus BT TV as a way of watching BT Sport. So I take it the High Def (HD) versions of BT Sport 1 and 2 and ESPN are delivered via Broadband to a "Youview" box if your broadband is the Infinity version.
If your broadband is non-Infinity, they send you a BT Vision+ box (instead of a Youview Box) and a viewing card to watch the Standard Def (SD) versions of BT Sport 1 and 2 - but no ESPN - via the aerial. But broadband speed is still an issue as other subscription elements of BT TV are delivered via broadband.
Add the Sky box option into the mix plus the online and app versions and it is no wonder consumers are confused.
I think BT have more chance of success with their sport offering than OnDigital, ITV Digital or Setanta Sports. But I think there will be a lot of baffled consumers and a lot of complaints to get there0 -
I was considering BT Sport but despite saying that I can have BT Infinity, they cannot supply the HD channels! What's that all about?0
-
They would want £3 a month for HD anyway which adds another expense.
Let's face to get "free" BT Sport you need to pay for:
Landline Rental
Broadband/Infinity Monthly Fee
BT TV Monthly Fee
BT TV Activation Fee
Possible £10 for BT Sport Viewing Card (for Non Infinity)
Possible £3 a month to watch in HD (If option is even available)
The cheapest way is to have the most basic broadband from BT (£10 a month with a 12 month term) and pay for BT line rental in advance (£141 for 12 months). But this would mean having no TV Options and simply watching BT Sport online or via an App. I think they even charge to send out the broadband hub so you would be looking at just under £270 for the year. There might be some offers/cashback to reduce this figure.
Once you start adding unlimited broadband or Infinity plus BT TV and HD options the cost soon shoots up.0 -

True. Nothings ever 'free'. From anyone.
Though for pre-existing customers, is actually 'free'. But for new customers signing up for BT Sport, there are indeed extra costs involved. So perhaps a better term for they would be BT Sport is supplied 'at no extra cost'. IMHO, of course.0 -
I'm now feeling a little more optimistic. When I try and order the BT Vision box online now it no longer tells me that the line is too slow and now says estimated speed of 3 - 8. But it still tells me to ring up to upgrade to a TV package which I did not have the energy to do today.0

At least it is heading in the right direction :j
Pity it won't let you order online but that might be a temporary thing as well. Might just be the account getting established.0 -
Finally! Just had a phone call to apologise for the delay but a BT Vision + box is being dispatched today.0

Let us know how the box works. I presume they are sending a viewing card to go inside it and activate the Sport channels.
I have never had Sky (and never want it) and so just have freeview inside the tv set at the moment. I am going to switch over to BT Broadband (not Infinity) so would be interested in the £5 a month option myself. I am put off ordering it at the moment but it would be good to hear how it all works out for your Dad.0 -

Good choice to put it off at the moment, as because of the demand for BT Sport, BT's customer services have gone into meltdown right now.

Pleased you finally got it sorted. And please let us know how it goes.0 -
Yes they are sending him a viewing card for free (normal cost £10).0
