LMD, suppose its easy to start with, it's perseverance that's the hardest and when times are tough sticking with it.

Got home to a bill - Evans account. £182.85 outstanding. Using the snowball calculator, paying the minimum repayment it would take me until sept 2018 to repay it.
Played about and if I pay £30 pounds a month, which I can stretch to, it would be paid off by march 2014. The biggest eye opener is the difference in interest is approx £150. Nearly my debt again.
That's just insane and its made me realise that if its this significant when I owe £180 then what my about my loan of £8,000.
Eyes are seriously wide open, thoroughly shocked eyes but wide open.Save £12k in 2014 #080 £0/£8,000.

Life is full of lightbulb moments, I had a storecard and used the payment a day to clear that one first, now I'm on to the next card

LMD it's thoroughly shocked me, I'm aware that store cards are notorious for high APR but until I did the actual calculation I didn't realise it was such a massive amount.
I have located an old phone ( spent the last hour searching for it) and gone on to the net and it could be worth £80. So that's my next task this week. Sell it an pay the money off my Evans card.
I'm hoping that if I can pull my belt In i could even pay it off next month.
Today's exercise has made me realise that all the little impulse purchases, magazines, can of pop, bits of things I don't need are totally worth giving up to enable me to pay my debts off quicker.Save £12k in 2014 #080 £0/£8,000.

Hi Eyes Wide Open,
You seem like you have hit the ground running. I'll be here cheering you on from the sidelines. Have you thought about any extra ways you could make money or if there are any services you can swap to free up some cash (without becoming too frugal), many people post up a statement of affairs for advice if that is your thing.0 -
Thanks roxy, sure there are bits and bobs I could sell on ebay. I also have a pot of dreams that is three quarters full. No idea how much is in it ( was intended to be used at Xmas for presents) but think I will get some money bags from the bank and smash it open and use the money to pay off debts. Might be enough to sort out another small cc bill.
I'm sure people will understand if I explain I'm not buying much - token presents as I have debts to clear first. Part of my debts are due to my generosity ( not that I'm blaming anyone other than myself). If people don't understand it's tough!!
So once I have smashed my pot I shall let you know how much is in it and fingers crossed it will be a cc sorted.Save £12k in 2014 #080 £0/£8,000.

I think token presents can be nicer sometimes. More thought goes into them. I was always so against reclaiming things - I have a totally different attitude now, go for it!0
