Just heard the sea is breaking over the promenade in Felixstowe now, high tide not due until 1 ish!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

How odd. I mean, I've heard of that happening, but I've never actually known anyone it had happened to. To me it suggests a difficulty in seeing a woman as a whole person, multifaceted but nevertheless integrated.

Oh, and lir, I hate to remove your offset, but if caring for you through all your illnesses hasn't managed to put fir off seeing you as sexual, I doubt that childbirth would. I've so seldom seen any husband as obviously besotted with his wife as he is with you, no matter what. :)

Its odd. You might run in to him soon.....I'll tell you a little about him. He's odd, very odd. Whole person issues is on the nail. Very insightful. But also, he just isn't tactile. He just about copes with a social peck on the cheek. That's all I have ever had, never a hug since I were a toddler...( very obvious step why I became a bit of a wanderer...my mother's inheritance of I ate sexuality and just looking for some physical attention, probably made me more open to different types of relationship.)

    Fir.....he's a good egg. ;).

I love Amos. Amos and Isaac sound kind of a cool pair.. not too matched but, of equal gravitas. You can imagine them as a teen and a twenties being too cool for words, amos in awe of Isaac, and a pair of middle aged friendly brothers with families and chatting good naturedly and also as older men, devoted brothers.

    Love the descriptions.

But what we all want to know is what NDB will think of it.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I arrived in the days before telephones... and early. I suddenly appeared so dad had to deliver me, then, later, go to the public box and call a midwife. He/mum stayed together to the end.

Before telephones? I don't know exactly how old you are but I definitely know older people who were born into modern civilisation.

We had two possible names for DD, and couldn't decide. When she was born the midwife put her in my hands (she would have fitted in one hand). DW said, "well, what's she called" and I said "DD" and that was it.

So if she doesn't like her name I'm to blame!

Sea Road Felixstowe just about passable with sea water...that means it has topped the sea defences.

    Naughty word!!!

  • Well, could be worse than to have a quick birth, I suppose. There was ample time, while I was in labour, for a midwife to have a lesiurely start to her day, fly to London from Australia, and not miss anything.

OH just got home, after a very long day - Court of Appeal case (hard work, those are) and then touting drinks until just now. He's also feeling a bit snotty, so I made him some camomile tea and he's taken his snottiness to be soothed in a nice warm bath.

OH says the Court of Appeal judges are "bigger than you, and hunt in packs". He reckoned that, before asking questions, they looked at each other in the same way a street gang would to see if it's time to bring out the blades...

I mean before people had phones .... when you had to use public call boxes.
  • Beats me why people think it's a good idea to spectate, when waves are crashing over sea walls. Wouldn't standing back be a rather smarter move?

I saw a TV programme once, where people who asserted they had this allergy were invited to a country house. It had a phone mast in the car park next door. They knew they were there for research into symptoms.

They were told the mast was not on for the first part of the week. No symptoms. They were then told that the mast was switched on halfway through the week. Symptoms promptly reported.

The programme revealed that the mast had in fact never been switched on ...

I'm sure that some people do live with this condition but not on the scale asserted by many people ...

I thnk there's a ton of this in the world of allergies. I read that loads of people only show the allergy when they know the allergen's present. It's the most odd part of immunology (or medicine in general).

Does he like a curry (India Club fan that you are)? I always use a cold as an excuse to take a fiery curry to sweat it out. Haven't a clue if it works and even if it doesn't it was fun trying!
