When I looked at our bank a/c to see how much our fuel bills are I also spotted that standing order payment had gone in today from our daughter to repay us for a car loan.
I need to remind her to cancel it as the loan is now paid off:T. The SO was set up two years ago when we paid 50% of what was needed and loaned her 50%.
Mmm what happens for the next car ..she saves up, she borrows commercially or bank of M&D? What would NP do?
I remember my first bought car, I was told by M&D that dad had taken out a loan to get lower interest rates than what we'd have got (both my brother & I bought a car at the same time). We repaid dad monthly.
After 9 months of the 4th year of repayments, I asked for confirmation off mom/dad that payments expired in 3 months. They looked at each other, paused, then admitted that payments should have ended 9 months ago! However as I had the money spare & was budgeting, they carried on accepting it.
I wasn't too fussed, as that meant I'd saved almost all an ISA allowance for a year.vivatifosi wrote: »BOMAD with (at current rates) about 3% interest.
That way she gets a better rate than from the bank and you get a better rate on your savings. Win/win.
I'm not a great believer in giving loans to even close family without building in some interest, unless I was very close and it was a crisis as there is always a loss of opportunity with your money.
I don't charge family, or certain friends any interest at all. I refuse to do so, even though it goes against my instinct of being tight as a ducks butt.
My reasoning is that they are friends/family, & some things should just be done.
Provided they don't take liberties, and acknowledge/appreciate it, then I'm happy with that.
In reality I also think that real friends/family don't tend to ask unless Viva's criteria applies anyway...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
We were a few minutes late for school this morning as I misplaced my car keys, so youngest had to write the reason he was late....
Did he write "Mum lost her car keys"? Nope, he wrote "Freeing the slaves"
Caused lots of merriment amongst the teachers I can tell you.
:rotfl:
That was worth logging in for alone....:DIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Not that nice a comment, but it is interesting to see how economics drives demographics in ths country - the 'hard working families' don't have many kids because they can't aford them/the loss of one income whereas those at the top and bottom of the income/social spectrum can afford big families. Lucky we also import all those motivated young immigrants to help balance the population between the extremes.
This "hard working families" boolsheet line the tories are spouting is a complete myth.
I'm sure all sorts will define themselves that way. It is a marketers dream quote.
Criminals work hard !!!!!!.
It's just another thing that makes me want to punch davey/georgie in the face. Hard. With a knuckle-duster.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

back in nice mode, are you people aware of Steve Evans?
He's from the same city I am. It appears to be trendy to knock the midlands. Steve is a true inspiration & makes me proud to be a human being, as well as from wolverhampton:

I just pretend the 'h' isn't there, not sure if that is correct?
Nope, that's cheating! Needs the "s" and then the "th" sounds in a row.
I'm one of 4, but that depended on my mother not working, as my Dad was working a lot. Didn't cost the state too much, either, as no benefits (bar child benefit) and no education costs, apart from my brother who went to a state primary until he was 7....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
For reasons that escape me, sub-cut was supposed to be easier to do in the nursing home environment than an IV. I'm wondering if we might go down the IV route as they have a 24 hour mobile IV team that come out to private homes and nursing homes.
He is supposed to be getting a visit from Speech and Language to make sure his swallowing is OK. If Lady GDB would be so kind as to swing by Widnes on her way home, it would be one more thing to tick off the long list.
In true haulage fashion, I can give her night out money:D
In theory sub-cut is much easier to do, as you don't need to find a vein. I think that any fully qualified nurse is meant to be allowed to administer it. Of course the problem is that nurses can't prescribe and someone has to prescribe it first.
I also thought that sub-cut made patient feel comfortable whereas IV was a higher intervention, but I may be wrong.
