I love your youngest. Whatever you say about him, it always makes me think "cool kid". He seems so unknowingly witty. If he doesn't go on to run a FTSE company from his own private island, he should consider creative writing. There's something Noel Coward-esque about his dry humour that I love.

I think freak g the slaves should be new np speak for 'misplaced keys'

We do turn the rads down in rooms that are not used. Also we are zoned as the original boiler serves the original house and the combi serves the extension. Apparently having 2 boilers is almost efficient as having one. i think they are both band D 74% and 78% efficient - enough to make it uneconomical to change them, but not as good as the new boilers.

Our heating adviser (a heating big wig in London) actually advises us to have two heat sources or boilers (we might not) because its automatic partial back up should one go belly up while you wait for repair.

Because all my 's' s are prone to be soft due to a very slight lisp I think I am pronouncing isthmus correctly and more easily than those with better's's . I can pronounce 's' properly, and its not far off correct, its just very slightly softened, so I don't bother often...I don't pronounce it th....just a slightly softened s.

Sue - I don't think 3 is unusually large, I was thinking about 4 plus - is 3 considered unusually large these days?

However in a family with a very high income and 3 boys there would be more choice to try for a 4th girl than for a family who were already at the limit of what they could afford. Similarly in a non-working household having more kids will increase disposable income rather than reduce it.

Isn't large always one more than you opt for if you aren't in double figures? Like high income is always higher than one earns oneself?

I'm pretty sure I found my sitting room curtain fabric today, If DH likes it. I'm in love. I'm so glad I haven't bought the other stuff I liked yet that was sensible. This is much less 'proper' and much more us I think. I hope DH thinks its him too!

I have the fabric books in my car, I hope he likes it, I hope he likes it. If he does it will be our first real fabric purchase for the house. Its one of the most important things to me......I don't mind that its taking us ages.

I have fabric lust know though, and want every pattern and colour way in the books,..............I suppose I could have door curtains.........

They are such huge patterns that if we have them in the study we have to redesign the shelves we have sketched, because blinds will not fit at all in the pattern repeat.

    Um.....of anything in particular?:D

The fabric books are in the car still and I'm too beat to go and get them too google. If I perk up on a bit I will though.

I've had a really good day. I looked like me again. As well as knowing this for myself I know it because :o. I got a few compliments in shops:o

I had a bit of a spill in monsoon and they were so lovely and got me a glass of water and Asked if I needed to eat and that they had some biscuits......:rotfl: I explained that its just me and that it was probably going in to the really hot shop from outside, then we picked over my shopping choices and they put everything sensible back saying it didn't look much like it would suit me' so I just got a bright jumper, a sparkly cardi and a party dress for new niece. :rotfl:

I also got a dog bed reduced because it had another dogs name embroidered on it. My dogs cannot read so I don't think they will mind.

Not that nice a comment, but it is interesting to see how economics drives demographics in ths country - the 'hard working families' don't have many kids because they can't aford them/the loss of one income whereas those at the top and bottom of the income/social spectrum can afford big families. Lucky we also import all those motivated young immigrants to help balance the population between the extremes.

However, if children from the demographics were to see that they could be successful with hard work, it could tilt the other way.

Georgia could have been innovative, but at the moment, needs that little push to get there. It's the same thing here.
