She died after a Christmas. Se was fifty five.
    Awww :(
I hope they had a nice last Xmas.

I worry every day that I could just "go" on any random day, starting today. Getting older makes you worry/think of these things.

I think the bungalow must be a typo ..... there's nothing I can think of that'd devalue any property that much. Not murders, not a gypsy feud, not a drugs factory ... nothing.

well it's £65k in the auction listing and on their website as well:

the extent of the fly tipping looks pretty bad, you can't really tell from the pictures but it looks like the gates have been removed and the outside wall is gone and it also looks as if there might be some damage to the roof. it does appear to be right next to some kind of light industrial unit as well.

Perhaps it will cost 500k to remove the nasties that have been 'fly tipped' on the site?
Doubtful .... looks like a load of old building scrap. If worst came to worst you could dig a big hole and bury it .... then build an embankment as a rockery round the edge :)

Its not just getting older, being I'll and outliving your life expectancy does it to you a bit. I don't worry too much, apart form I don't like things not being in order. I had to sort out mil's stuff, I don't want someone (another woman especially) to have to sort through mine feeling guilty and 'wrong' . :).

IMO, it is what it is, we go when we go, and I just want to enjoy what I have. I really don't mind too much.

All that said, feeling great again today, got EVERYTHING on today's list done. Only thing holding me back is this stupid ankle. It feels all the time now like the Achilles' tendon is tearing, but its not, because its not worse when I bear weight, so I think its a nerve confusion, but its still horrid , because I panic about what would happen if it does snap or year badly and I'm off my pins entirely for a while, especially over winter, when keeping it dry would be very hard, and getting abou the wreck and yard would be a night mare on sticks and a cast...do they cast tendon snaps now?

    :o:)

I cannot believe how much energy I still have at twenty to five. I'd even dance again tonight but for the old ankle fears.

It's near an industrial unit. There may be toxic nasties or asbestos or something else that will be expensive to remove safely. The roof needs completely replacing. And we have no idea what has happened to the inside. It may need totally gutting, with new wiring, heating, plumbing etc. Also, it's an auction. £65k is not the selling price, or even the reserve price, just the starting price, like those things that are listed on ebay for 99p and actually sell for £36.74. It would be very interesting to find out how much it actually goes for when the auction happens.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

DH said to tell you on, they had an ok last Christmas. They turned the turkey green because they left the bag of gizzards and stuff inside it (his mother wasn't a great cook).

He says thanks for the 'awwww'. He"s cool with it all now.

Might be some industrial leaks from next door ... as for renovation, I'd demolish it and build from new.

I still think it must be a typo, if it was "worth" £700k you'd get a better return by renting it out if you already owned it.

That's a fabulous last Xmas memory.... very sad that she would have felt bad about that, especially with probably wanting to give him a special Welcome home Xmas dinner after his first term .... but, now, it's also an amusing memory to help take the edge off it all.

I'm no expert, but it looks fantastically good to me.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
