And all afternoon, still haven't got through.
Normally I observe the silence, but today I thought.....I'm gonna do it and call......but obviously so did everyone else. So not premeditated, but certainly not respectful.
Maybe they switched the phones off for a couple of minutes? (Ungrasps straws)0 -

Dunno, maybe the switch the phones off all the time, when ever I call them I cannot get through, then I forget and put it on the back burner till it comes a pressing issue again and the same situation!
I think they must be a popular public service line.0 -

I've been here a month and 4 days nowHas flown past. Still trying to persuade n power that the prepayment meter was replaced over a year ago and they should know that it is a normal gas meter. Nevermind.
Favourite thing? Hmmmm... I guess that I like that it is 'mine'. Put my first couple of picture hooks in the wall over the weekendAlso don't have to be fully dressed at all times (e.g. to nip downstairs to get a drink). It's also nice showing people I'm a cheapskate for a reason (I really was saving up to spend it all on something...).
Favourite room is definitely my bedroom. It's the room that looks most homely, but my also bed faces an original fireplace
(That was a few favourites, wasn't it! I guess I've been trying to remind myself that I should be enjoying this, not just worrying about paying for it)
You're welcome round for a tour any time.0 -
I am being called disgusting elsewhere because I let my kids share bath water. QUOTE]
Invite the namecallers over here to the NP thread , so they can see the pictures of knickers you find on the internet. Then they will really have something to be judgemental about.:)
I think you are an amateur at disgusting bath routines.
Mr S and I used to share bathwater when we did not have a shower and the hot water tank was heated by the woodburner. Two quite clean adults shring a tub of water. SHOCK. FILTH....

Why do some people insist on saying "baby" when what they mean is "the baby".
I think it is probably the most irritating thing, EVER.0 -

I think there has been a trend towards 'call centre' type set ups for local councils (rather than the different departments having their own phone lines). Hope you get through soon - it's really frustrating getting the 'we're experiencing a higher than normal volume of calls' message every time you try to call. My call clearly isn't important to you, stop lying!0 -

I think PN might be right, I think I might mainly try on Mondays or Tuesdays then give up. If I can hold out and call on...say...a Thursday maybe I'll have better luck. :T. By Thursday I'm usually not so worried though....:rotfl:0
