Nearest is like NDG - non-negotiable job commitments, 100 miles from home.0 -
Here is another one I like though:http://www.made.com/collection/garston-collection/garston-3-seater-sofa-cardinal-red-14397
- tiny feet, will make big dents in carpet/floor
- looks uncomfortable for curling up on, with such straight sides.
- covers don't look removable for washing.0 -
Not overly keen, but I'd settle for this and £300 saved

Loads of colours in the drop down.
That's a comfy lying down and watching the telly sofa.
Although I'd go for two 2-seaters, rather than one 3-seater.0 -

That is too premeditated for my liking I'm afraid. To me I think that is up there with "good day to bury bad news".
In a non NP way it made me feel quite pleased you could'nt get through.
Sanctimonious mode off.0 -

Ok, well, its only until your phone line is sorted out.
I bet NDG would be able to make 'yes or nos' over the phone to a care home if she were the one in line who got the call. People in those kind of jobs have parents and kids, and sometimes don't have wonderful siblings like you.
Sweets, you CANNOT do the impossible. Do they have an email for you?0 -
I shared a bath with my sister until I was about 6-7 I would guess and the Generalissimos share a bath aged 7 & 8.
I started Xmas shopping at the weekend - got the first 7 presents. Plus got the makings of advent calendars for this year. The plan is to put a Xmas decoration in an envelope for each kid on each day so they can put a decoration up each day up until Xmas. If rather that than spend $50 each on a Lego advent calendar or, worse, a chocolate each morning.
I'm on the bus this am: too exhausted to rise in. Gah! I hate buses but at least I got a seat. Am going to apply for a promotion when I her to work today to be a trader.
Sorry about your news bugslet. Great phrase Spirit, really good IMHO.0 -

Well, had been trying all morning.....
And all afternoon, still haven't got through.
Normally I observe the silence, but today I thought.....I'm gonna do it and call......but obviously so did everyone else. So not premeditated, but certainly not respectful.0 -

With a few cushions, looks comfortable enough for curling up on/ sitting with feet up (I have no need to share)
I currently have some of those washable covers like you get on the back of the Sunday magazines (I really wouldn't be surprised if that is indeed where they came from). So I'll probably rebel and get non-removable covers whenever I actually go sofa shopping. By that time, we'll probably all have hoverboards, so I won't need to worry about dents in the floor0 -
since he isn't able,
Dear bugslet, I am so sorry that you and he are at this point. If there is a blessing in this, it is that he has you who has loved him to make decisions for him . Whatever you decide will be for the best of reasons, for him and for you.
My love to you both
