1] See the obscured window - clearly overlooks people parking right by the window.
2] Service charge includes some bills but is still £1700/year.
3] Trees are too many/oppressive.
You won't know what it's really like without viewing it. For example, the window is at ground floor level, but how can you tell people park right by it? Going on a sight-seeing tour of some properties might help to clarify some of the decisions? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

It gives you a much better idea of what's actually selling. There are always some properties on RM that are way over-priced, and they are not going to be on the sold/sstc list, are they?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Have you considered one of these? http://www.ageuk.org.uk/buy/help-at-home/age-uk-personal-alarms/ You are obviously not in their normal age group, but you are on your own quite a lot and not that steady on your pins.
If you press the button they just call the people on your contacts list... which an able minded person can do on their own by having their mobile with them.
Alternatively, they will call a neighbour who has a set of keys to call in and see to you. Again, able-minded people can make their own arrangements with their mobile phone in their pocket.
All they really do is enable feeble minded people to get somebody phone'd.0 -

My grandmother had one. It meant she (a) had the confidence to remain in her home for longer than otherwise. (b) wonder around the flat without worrying that she had left her phone somewhere. It also gave family the reassurance that she could be spoken to, without her having to willingly answer the phone. So if her phone had died or she didn't answer for some reason, the service could bellow at her through the device and see if there was response.
Of course the user has to be alert enough to remember to wear it always.

If you are the closest, you will end up being the one who has to dash over whenever there's a crisis. That's not really fair.PasturesNew wrote: »Closest is 1 mile from her and couldn't really give a toss.
Glad PN responded because I feel likewise. It wasn't so much the annexe that confused me, more that the house had been split into a front half and back half! I only noticed when I was trying to look up previous sale figures. I guess a lot of other people couldn't understand it either hence it is still for sale.
This had me baffled until I worked out that the photo has really nothing to do with it!
Nikkster you've just bought a house. You need to stop looking in shop windows/ checking real estate websites! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
