    I would.

I am probably going to do the fodmap food plan soon and its very depressing. Particularly as loads on the allowed list I also know I cannot eat ATM or have been advised not to. :rotfl:

I think it leaves me water, fake milk, maple syrup, noodles, potatoes, sweet potatoes and celery:rotfl:

    Sorry lir:(

Roasted sweet potatoes in a maple syrup glaze sound lovely...

My children played it for a while, and I had to see what the fuss was about. It's quite fun seeing how often you can roll a car over, and so on, but I never got into the story line and I was carp at shooting people.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    That's funny:rotfl:

My mum was furious when I had my ears pierced. I have no idea why. She is not anti-earrings, but anti holes in ears. Clip ons were her forte. She told me that if I was meant to have holes in my ears, God would have seen to it that I was born with them. Which was quite funny given that she is agnostic.

It's funny, that is almost exactly my take on 'tats and piercings....

Oh, all over...mongrel spawn of mongrels. :) I am British too.....:)

I was born here and came back here to go to school when I was a kid. My dad is British, ( well, his mother was irish, and his paternal family were english/ welsh...) my mother is not. ( or sort of). My mother is an uber mongrel. :)

I have just had the first T or T at the door. As it's after 7.30 now is it safe to tuck into the sweetie box, hmm? The two girls who knocked the door were very polite. No sign of the parents hovering so I asked them to take care.
Sending good wishe to NDG. I really do dislike auto correct on this device. Aapologies for any and all errors.

Welcome Loanranger. Care to tell us anything more about yourself? Apart from not being good at science and having no plans to get tattoos?

I have, very conventionally, pierced ears (just one hole in each lobe) and no tatts. DD had hers pierced for her 10th birthday recently. I intend to resist any further holes or any tatts until she's old enough not to need my consent.
Turning up at court, on time, and reliably, is seen as super-important. But I think that while Lydia's right - it wouldn't have made any difference if I had or hadn't gone - I'd have felt worried all the time, and wouldn't have been at my best in dealing with a very tangled and complicated legal argument.

Courts are very reluctant indeed to adjourn, and rarely like it if counsel claims illness, but in this case, they've just had to live with it. My clerk's fax said I was not in a state where I was fit to attend and assist the court, that the case was not returnable as was too complicated, so if they didn't adjourn I'd have to turn up and wouldn't be able to be much use anyway. It worked.

Phew. So glad they were able to see sense. I know I certainly couldn't have concentrated on anything when I had my 9 week bleed. Fortunately I was a SAHM when it happened, so didn't have to worry about work.

Still hoping and praying for the best outcome of it all for you. :)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Ah, but do you wear clip ons;)?

If I was a parent, it would probably be my take too. I don't like tattoos either and would certainly not get one myself. I can tolerate discreet ones, but the big ones, or worse, the selfies of the tattoo world, not keen at all.

Oh, and like Doozer, I found out that I didn't tolerate earrings so my holes have closed up.

My daughter showed this to me earlier this evening as this is an area of academic and work interest to her. Safe enough?

It is interesting. It also makes perfect sense to me.

Growing up in London, in my primary school of 30ish children, we were beautifully diverse. I didn't give it a second thought. The report does suggest that younger people benefit more from diversity in London. In London, being a diverse people is something to be proud of and relish in.

People do group together and find comfort in being part of a group and having an identity other than one of just being an individual. The downside of that is that some people see other groups as a threat to their perceived happiness. If you grow up in a group which is culturally diverse, you are able to appreciate more of the things that we hold in common.

Life has to be miserable for people that are concerned with tribalism. It's hard work having to feel threatened by Muslims, immigrants, gay people, posh people... There can't be time left for much else. The more insular a life people live in a society like ours, the more marginalised they personally will feel. They create a reality that is the exact opposite of what they want to achieve. Except they put the blame on others, not with themselves.

    Peace out
