Better that than just the famine part though!

Meh, you can have great times alone. Better alone than with a to55er. If that makes any sense. ;). Also improves your feast when it comes because you've honed your taste buds and know what you want..

That is funnier and sadly more true that you should ever know.

I know it sounds odd, but I've lost track of where she's at with it ... she's a few issues ongoing. This one was for a cataract, we thought - as she's been booked in for a 2nd one, but declined at the last minute. Instead of just doing it (as she'd only declined 2-3 months prior), it turned out to be "another look", so now there's another date for the actual op.

As for the C .... I'd have to consult my sibling on where we're at with that ...and I bet she's confused too :)

Sorry, can't recall her age now..is she mid 80's?

My Dad went to a funeral recently of a 92YO (who coincidentally was the mother of one of my old school friends) and she got a cancer a year ago and chose not to have treatment. I can't recall which type it was but she was given the choice.

My uncle has now 'donated' his living unwell body to research and is having an experimental course of chemo. He is quite accepting of where he is at and doesn't expect a cure but just wanted to be 'useful' in his last few months. His words.

As he was one of the key players in the invention and successful implantation of the 1st artificial heart in Canada a decade ago, he recalls working with people who donated their last breaths to speak, to science.
ETA , could have been 2 decades ago..
Sadly, he retired when the research he was working on wasn't being put through as he thought it would. He was the engineer of the actual working bits.

But I'm extremely possessive about OH in an intimate sense. I couldn't ever be one of those women who can manage to turn a blind eye.

Very few women would be prepared to share IME.

Naughty LIR talking about sex on here...tut tut......;)

I sent OH off for the snip after DD. So since the age of 31 I haven't had to worry about contraception at all. I thoroughly recommend it if you have finished having kids.:p He was very traumatised from the op (which did have a problem ) but it was worth it.

No, I really talk about sex like this in real life. :o. ( DH does not)

DH is on the phone now and I'm saying spirit and gdb222 will be horrified and DH is saying 'why, its you, and you're right, people should wear condoms '.

( tbc, most of the time we don't use anything because I am infertile. This is a belt and braces option in case I decide not to be infertile while on drugs which would mean I had to abort a baby. That would be pretty soul destroying so while its not going to happen, why risk it?)

Very wise....I was told I was infertile, a million to one chance and the one night we (actually he) decided to not bother with a condom, I got pregnant!

Mind you, the doctor took some convincing to do an official pregnancy test (as it was done years ago) as he had seen all the results and was convinced it was a false positive, something which can happen with my condition.

Emboldened by our amazing success first time around, we embarked on getting pregnant the second time as soon as we could after James...and ended up 3 years and several operations later at the fertility clinic.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'm pretty open minded (or more likely realistic). Just prefer not to see the evidence. Especially not after I've specifically said so :o

House is gradually feeling more like a home. My bedroom definitely looks more like I actually live there rather than just staying temporarily. I bought a penguin doorstop and a woolly duster on an extending pole over the weekend. Feel quite domesticated!

Cleaning has come to a bit of a standstill - too much going on (e.g. had a friend to stay for the weekend), but I figure that there isn't so much of a rush (it isn't so bad considering).

Also bought pumpkins (one small/ med one and a teeny weeny one) :D

By the sounds of it, lir is getting your quota and mine too.

And mine...everytime me and loveerr have tried recently, we have ended up on the injured list (him a broken toe, me a dislocated shoulder)

We've decided it might be safer to put it on the back burner :rotfl:
