This is the polar opposite of my larder cupboard. Mine has rice and pasta spilling out everywhere and everything is shoved in. It's even grown into the cereal cupboard. I have an entire shelf for tea and coffee. It's full but we have no 'normal' tea at all for visitors.
I've been meaning to address it, but haven't gotten around to it. Perhaps this is my motivation.
That's not my corner cupboard, that's a kitchen website's cupboard (-:
One of our corner cupboards contains only unopened packets of coffee, and 10 different types of tea, from builders' tea, via Lady Grey, to camomile and peppermint.
The other is all baking stuff - different types of flour, several varieties of sugar, baking powder, icing sugar, bicarb, pectin, all that kind of thing.Doozergirl wrote: »I'm the same. The problem with trying to convince him not to go if it is blowing a gale at 5am, is that I know that in that moment I will genuinely believe that my sleep is more important than his life. We have spoken now, I gave him LIR's instructions. He has promised not to go if it is bad.
My children have always naturally risen around eight. I am eternally thankful. Perhaps they just know what is good for them!
Isaac's exception is the first day we are in Kent, or on holiday. Then he does wake at sparrow fart. But his default time is about 8am, which is more or less civilised.
What sort of job has James got, Sue?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Edit: LIR, BBC have a team very close to you, lots of trees down, country roads impassable!
Well, just back from quick pop to station. The just before eight train left just before ten and the ten left and ten thirty.
Station carpark at least half empty though, normally heaving by eight. Think people are being sensible and not risking things (or just skiving). It is half term week here too I think,
No sign of any serious damage hereabouts. We still have leaves on the limes and horse chestnuts, we even still have some fruit on trees
Saw an electric company man and asked him of he was in the area for damage (after begging him for three phase and being turned down) and he said no, just routine, no dramas here.0 -
I rang my parents - they were in Bruges for their wedding anniversary, and got back last night.
They've lost their leccie, but it's not a widespread thing, just the lines for a few houses. As they have oil central heating and hot water, and gas for cooking, it's not a tragedy. They've also lost a few trees (my Dad was out early to check, he treats his trees like an extra 300-odd children) but the fences and so forth are OK, and none of the trees landed on anything too breakable....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Everything still being cancelled here. I gave up at 10am and took holiday.0 -
Only a marketing/promotional thing for the local nightclub NDG but money is money as they say.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Now in St albans office. No trains, asked at the station and they have no clue - trees across line in various places and power supply problems too, looks like no trains today which is poo as I am supposed to be puiblishing Q2 on Wednesday cop
They suggested catch a bus that may be running to the end of the Northern Line which may then be running into central London....
FCC have tweeted a photo of a tree on the line, I suspect because looking around St A you would be hard pressed to notice anything out of the ordinary.I think....0 -

But will the central heating still work? Most CH systems are electrically pumped, so don't work in a power cut. Hope they're doing OK and get power back soon. Glad they didn't have any major damage.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I don't know - but if it doesn't, it's not that cold, and they have wood burning stoves in the living and dining rooms. So they'll be OK....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Uneventful journey home, which was dry, bright and windless..... did take a wrong turning in the last bit though - the area round here generally has no useful signs, so having turned off into a large village/small town in error, I ended up taking an unmarked route out .... followed by discovering no significant signs; then spotted one with a name on I recognised, so headed for it .... then ended up on a main road I felt might have been the one I'd first wanted, took a wrong turn off that .... came to the end of a road/traffic lights - no signs, so picked "right", wrong way to go but I did at least see a sign then for where I wanted to be.
Back now, but no telly. Neighbours have gone away and I suspect my entire aerial system is linked to them having their aerial system "on" and I think they've flicked it to "off". Also no post as I gave them the key to the postbox before I went away; I thought they were only away for the weekend...0
