Is definitely pretty gusty here... Just about to get up but I can definitely hear the wind. Woke me up in the night too. Don't think we're supposed to get the worst of it up here though. Hopefully no damage here or for any other NP.

Last few minutes here it has got noticeably worse. Worse meaning loose garden stuff flying around though, not cows. To be fair, this is exactly when the Met Office said the worst would come. May delay leaving for work by half an hour.

Still gusting here and was woken in the night by the wind (cue rude joke).

Checked the garden before letting the dog out and all looks fine. Like fc our heavy wooden bench is tipped over.

Road traffic reports trees down on route to work so will set off a bit earlier and go another route.

Have power and seen cars travel in both directions so our road is clear, which is good , we have had forestry commission logging for the last couple of months and had the electricity people line clearing in the summer so it all seems to have worked.

Our neighbours all tell us that in 1987 they were out with chain saws to clear the road and it was more than a week without power. That will be the good old days.

Just thought...as it is still blowing, getting to work is one thing, getting home another:(. Ho hum

Nothing much going on here, not windy at all. The bin men were out and did their normal trick of reversing their stupid bin lorry down our street at 6.30am, so I was woken up by "beep beep caution this vehicle is reversing", shortly followed by a plane on approach into heathrow.

The biggest inconvenience appears to be the fact that everyone in the world is trying to get into SWtrains' website so I can't tell whether my train is running or not. Since it just goes on a loop from Waterloo out to Kingston and then back in to Waterloo there doesn't seem to be much reason why it wouldn't be running...

The webpage loaded for me eventually, says service suspended on all lines including Kingston/Shepperton.

We have found in excess of 20 trees blocking lines across our network.
We will be operating a significantly reduced timetable on Monday. It is highly unlikely that trains will run before 0900 at the earliest and in some cases this could be considerably later. We have been running test trains this morning across our network and many have encountered fallen trees and debris on the line.

FirstCapitalConnect are apparently having a lie in until 9...at which point the 10,000 people who normally travel before then will all be trying to get on to the 4 trains an hour that run in the off-peak service....
    I think....

Nothing happened here. I think I heard wind at 3am .... but as the rain was coming down vertically it wasn't bashing on windows ... and it's a new build house so no draughts and rattling doors/windows.

Some strange leaves in the garden indicate there must have been a lot of wind.

Thanks! I just managed to get a departure board which said that every train due to leave mortlake up until 9.40am has been cancelled. It didnt show any later trains. Think I'm just going to take holiday, I really can't be bothered to try to get in and once I do get there no one else will be there either!
