I don't think I can be more sure this is (edit: at best) an unrequited crush (my crush); but more likely something that might be a sweet and innocent long-term friendship.
I have just been taken aback to meet someone that I find is so attractive (physically and personality-wise) that I have not managed to completelu scare off.
I am seeing this as a re-introducing myself into normal human life rather than my perfect match. I don't think I could say no, but I am 101% sure that it won't be a question. And that is just fine by me.
Just go for a nice night out with a friend, As you say, he has a gf and you've had no indication that he feels anything more for you than as a colleague/friend, so enjoy the flutter of a crush.
It sounds like a nice re-introduction into dating without actually dating, IYKWIM.0 -

Never done it on a car, do it for vans sometimes, we hit around 60 - 80,000 miles a year and know the problems we are likely to get with a specific make.
Agree with chewie, it's not something they expect not to make money out of.
What's the mileage? And what's the make? Might be worth a post on the motoring board to see if anyone knows of any likely problems with your make of car and make a decision based on likelihood.
Anything less than 150,000 miles and I wouldn't bother though.
I think we have different car experiences. It is a Nissan Juke, 3 yrs old with 16,000 miles on the clock. One of the first (possibly the very first auto) Juke that rolled off the production line, so no history. There were a couple of bits that had to be sorted out this time including an odd noise on starting in the rain, that they diagnosed to be the fan belt slipping off its greased track (I may have got the explanation wrong), so I'm wondering if £229 gives peace of mind.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Chewy, 90k sounds a big drop. Expect EA will laugh, but that is what EAs do. Insist that the offer be forwarded in writing to the vendor.
Brave Nickster, good luck.
Spirit any chance others will follow your lead and want part time work? IME if there are a few people working part time, it is easier on communication and on understanding, if you are the only one it can be a bit dis-spirit-ing.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I doubt it. So far all attempts to find any kind of advance indicators of earthquakes have come to absolutely nothing, despite decades of details research into all sorts of stuff.
The tide going a long way out before a tsunami is different. The event has already happened, and the wave is on its way. It's just that the trough arrives before the peak does.
There is probably a confirmation bias effect too, you remember the odd fish that washed up a few days before the earthquake, you don't remember the other one that washed up 2 years earlier that wasn't....I think....0 -

Is it really 229 or does it tie you in to expensive dealer servicing with them also replacing lots of parts each service under 'normal wear and tear' at your expense to make sure you don't end up making a claim at their expense?I think....0 -

Fish get washed up in bad weather like hurricanes too. Its just what happens. You Dw will have seen fish strewn beaches. Sharks from slightly strange waters, ( my fav was half a shark....where DID the other half go? ) etc.
Two fish hardly seem prophetic by comparison BUT, its the same type of fish innit? Rarely seen? Mighty e sort of habitat disturbance. To huge a leap for me to make.....fish are not my thing at all.0 -

I got my recent one at 11% off and there was nothing specifically wrong with it. What amazed me is that the agents who knew I would not increase my offer seemed to be effectively negotiating on my behalf to make sure the deal was done and they got their commission - ie persauding the vendor that my offer was so solid and available so quickly thus allowing the vendor to do their onward plans that it was worth taking even though I am pretty convinced that they could have got more with some better marketing.I think....0 -
Hmm Nissan Juke, they seem to have lost their reputtion for reliability a bit with that model and with the Qashqai.
If it makes you more comfortable then fine, but as michaels says, look at the small print, they are generally preying on people's concerns in my experience and not a good deal. I know I said I do it with vans but dealing with the commerical vehicle arm of a company is totally different to the car division.
I just can't get my head round why anything should go wrong at 16,000 miles, though I think it might appreciate being used a bit more:o. My old Nissan bluebird first had a fault at 176,000 miles, then head gasket at 203,000. It was a petrol though.
I think we do have different experiences silvercar:rotfl:0 -

You should have bought bitcoins. I heard they are up 19,000% since last Wednesday or something. That was rather shortsighted of you.
Anyway, good luck.0
