We had a police chase past the house this afternoon. This happens occasionally here. The critters get driven wild with joy by the excitement.
Thinking about spirits friend I am hoping no one was on the roads riding.
A least the sirens gave warning something was happening, but not much help if you are on a long stretch of road with no where to safely get off it. In the big valley, noise carries a fair way and not always clear where its coming fro
M , and so my plan would have been to try and get off road quickly, then work out if I could see lights, work out where its coming from and if there was somewhere better than where I was to get off road. Problem is, many of the places to get off road are going to be non horse a friendly places....0 -
Do people buy extended car warranties?
I'm in the process of trying to get a 2nd hand car, as the prices of new cars are way off my affordability.
I believe (direct from dealer) I can get a 2 year warranty. If I can get a longer one, I will. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Kiwi just ate a (nother) hole in my case pupo rug. I know I should be cross but its so funny. He is on his back in a submissive position while facing away from the hole with a' 'hole, what hole?' Look on his face......oblivious to the green wool stuck to his wooly face.
Its thought when you are little and you don't know not every thing is a toy. He does seem to get away with murder though. He is quite a submissive personality and I don't like to tell him off too much because of that.0 -
Well I just got the copy of the letter from the rheumatologist and all in all I'm more pleased than I have been with a medical letter for a long time.
Firstly it came with instruction to red pen it, because things 'may well need to be added, altered or omitted to reflect your impression of the situation'. Now while I recognise it won't change HIS opinion the geezer is listening.
Then the inevitable 'tearfulness' is noted as being clearly anxiety on this obviously normally 'vivacious and outgoing person ....clearly very fed up...complexity of symptoms'. Bloody hallelujah!!
He ends it with doctor speak for god knows what the hell we do now, but I'm thinking about it and intend to have a good prod about her person next month'.
Well, that seems helpful to me, like someone I can trust,

It is hard to switch off and been too easy to just keep working. .
For the first time in my adult life I want to spend more time with my family and friends than I spend in the office. I have never said or felt that before.
I will probably go a bit MSE crazy for a while and get fulfilled by doing old style stuff
Sounds perfect....hope you get it sorted out soon.

. FC and mr FC are such a great couple, so relaxing and yet enthusing to be around.
Have to say he will get treats this WE as the first floor starts to go up Friday and in-between making something called an oversite, organising all the brickies, scaffolder etc, he made me a nice new work bench for my PC @ Studio
From Mr and Mrs InRates too
If I hadn't been feeling slightly giddy, I might have been feeling more than a little jealous and nauseous
....aha, we are not the only ones then
Have run out of quote quota but good luck with the house negs Chewy.....does Mrs Chewy love it?
Good idea to have some budget to rent whilst building things going on......Don't move in and have major works done around you. Even the cats are fed up now.
They have their new cat flap built in 2 weeks time and it's through the brickwork up the side so a bit of a tunnel. Ginger is going to very suspicious of it for a while.
Good news on the medical letter...this is the one you saw last week yes?0 -
Yes fc123, the meetup causer.

Honestly! How can you possibly interpret "such a great couple, so relaxing and yet enthusing to be around" as something bad for which you need to apologise? Just take the compliment, will you? Smile, and say thank you, and don't say sorry.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Completely agree with both of these
Well said, Lydia! 0 -

The house would be a compromise for us both. I think we both thought that our budget would be big enough to just waltz up, click our fingers and the perfect house would be presented to us. I think it took her a bit longer to realise that we have to compromise otherwise we will still be looking in a year. If we do get it, once all the work has been done it should 'tick' about 80-90% of the 'boxes' I think. She is a lot fussier than I am, given that all I care about is having the TV in a separate room to the kettle and the washing machine.
We would definitely be renting in overlap with the renovation which would mean another move as we are too far away to keep an eye on it.0 -

Compared to what I recall of your previous experiences of Doctors this sounds like a happy result.:)0
