    I'm having coffee.

I don't care if it makes me ill. I want it and I'm tired and grumpy.
    So there.

What does your last sentence mean?
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

I even love driving on the inside lane down the motorway.

Me too. Inside lane, chugging along at 50mph and leave them to their urgent business in the fast lanes. Latest Whitesnake CD on, and a ciggy.

Could be something to do with driving the ugliest car on the road too...an old burgundy Polo.

Surely can't be as ugly as a... Fiat Multipla?? :p

Have to admit, I do miss a fast car. The stupid wannabe car rev counter terrifies me over fifty (you can almost see the petrol needle dropping too). I like speed limits these days too, but I do miss seventy.

I once got a speed camera snap me at 106 up a hill in a 2cv. I took it to court (for a different reason) and it got laughed out.

Edit ( advice is about one particular ' historical' person.....does that help? ). So 'Ratesonian advisor....lost ingrates? ....( autocorrect to fab to correct back)

We definitely want to lose any ingrates. We'll keep both of you inrateses, though. :)
I exepct Lydia'll hate it - wood floors and cream paintwork and ceilings (-:

Not at all. Have I ever said I don't like cream paintwork and/or ceilings? I don't remember that. I don't like rooms where the colour scheme and the superabundance of straight lines are so neutral as to make the room look boring, but that hall doesn't. The rug on the floor, the detailing on the bannisters etc, all make it look lovely.

And I don't mind wood floors in halls. I just prefer something softer and quieter in rooms where one spends time rather than passing through. Halls are places where there is legitimately likely to be mud, so wood's a good idea. When I bought my house it had laminate in the hall and I'm not intending to replace it.

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I fall asleep at those kinds of speeds, or I get too bored and try and find something to do, which is not a good idea generally.

In the ugly vehicle stakes, I drive an ex Post Office van, the bumper is bolted on one side to the bodywork and it's quietly turning that strange faded pink colour. The inside has enough fur rolling around to create another dog. Can I win please?:D

No, you are behind a fiat multipla.

I think yours sounds cool actually. I'd drive it.
