Good news - the hamster is fine and I know where she is.
Bad news - we can't make her come out from under the fridge.
Saving small furries is a tricky business.
A field mouse was caught by our cat, it managed to run away and I carefully crouched down providing shadow for it to run for cover which it did.
When I was finally sure the mouse had gone to a safety I stood up straight....and squashed the little mouse which had hidden under my heel as I crouched.:(0 -
I'm confused over pills again, sigh. I think i missed a night and took some night ones in the morning, and cannot remember if I am now in the morning or evening or what. I'm just going to get back on schedule tonight and hope that it all works out ok.....0

OK, caught up with the thread now. Thank you all for your message of support and then congratulations. Hamster band v cute, although they seem to have some rather strange embouchures.
DD still a bit shaken up by it all - seems to be feeling it now that it's all over, whereas when the hamster was still missing she was doing whatever necessary to take her mind off it. V late to bed (I'm clearly a bad mother) but I hope she'll sleep better for knowing everything's OK hamster-wise now.
I'll be off downstairs to watch Double your house on catch up in a few minutes.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Did second viewing with builder today. He thought that it will cost us £100-130k to do everything that needs doing. Next step, see if vendor fancies knocking 15% off their asking price...
Agent told us someone else is in the hunt and had instructed structural engineers to come and look at it. Quite why you would pay for that before you had an offer accepted I don't know.
Was also chatting to agent about the fact that there are loads of properties on rightmove showing as under offer which have been there for months. He said that most of their stock is like that - offer accepted months ago but vendors haven't found anywhere to buy - big sprawling chains all over the place but nothing completing.0 -

Maybe the structural engineer is tame ( friend/ cousin) and giving guidance that the weight of title lends weight to offer they hope?
Here lots of properties we would have considered are suddenly coming to market. Some ill my favourite places. Was mildly frustrating for tptwenty minutes to see a nice if modest cottage with nice land in chi chi village i adore on market at great price till we remembered that its much, much furth to a station which in turn is further from London, and its on a busier road.0 -
Well the agent said that the prospective buyer had asked the agent for a recommendation for a structural engineer to look at it so that seem unlikely. Of course the agent was probably lying and there is no other buyer - standard behaviour...
I am sure that as soon as we eventually exchange contracts on whatever we end up buying, about 50 houses which are all better in every respect will appear on the market priced 10% lower than whatever we have agreed to pay!0 -

"hamster-wise". Another of those words I can usually get much further into the year without having to use.:D
Glad it's back!
Chewie there was a documentary on last night that made me want to warn you to watch your neighbours in the area you've been looking at!.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
They bought for 950k, expected to spend 200k doing it up and instead spent 550k doing it up. They now have something worth £1.6m, so have saved 100k. They think it is worth £2.2m  trust me it isn't!
Yep, I thought that too. Sarah's face made it v obvious she doesn't think it's worth £2.2m either!Doozergirl wrote: »I'm watching it on +1. How did they hire two rubbish builders and why have they removed the entire guts of downstairs? If you want open plan space, it makes sense to just put it in the extension.
Yes, I thought that as well - just a few hours after the rest of you!Doozergirl wrote: »We've definitely moved on from Property Ladder.
"I think you need an aquarium"
Eh?
Are you remembering her telling that daft couple with the subsiding house that they were insane to waste money on an aquarium in the kitchen?Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
