I'm 2nd of 5 - I was counting properties owed by parents too in the rather grand total.
Am I the only one who has watched to many sci-fi movies and find this quite scarey?

My family consists of my dad and the four of us siblings. We own a house each - in each case with a spouse if the spouse is still alive, or alone if not. My dad owns his house outright, my brothers have mortgages on theirs (I think, although maybe the youngest has paid his off by now) and I own mine courtesy of a loan from my dad (on which I pay interest higher than he'd get in a savings account, so it's a win for him as well as for me).
My dad also owns 65% of a flat in London that's let out - he's trying to get rid of it but it's a long story with extended family complications. One of my brothers doesn't live in his house. His wife does a job with a tied house, so they live there and let their house out.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Right.....everyone got an email who wants one? (Thanks missk for copying in michaels!)0

My family of me, my sibling and my parents owns a grand total of one house between all of us, and my parents live in it.
Haven't looked at a house for about three weeks now. Nothing new has come on the market in that time. There are three houses we haven't looked at in our price range but they have all been on the market for months so I can't be bothered to look at them as there must be something wrong.
Still I'm not bitter about Nikkster and her fancy pre payment gas meter.0 -
Hi FC. There was a post of mine a few pages back suggesting a London venue which we decided should be removed. Please could you edit where you quoted.
Story is it is a retired property owner who has agreed to rent out her property and had found a rental here near her family but the rental here fell through but she is committed to leaving her home. not sure why she needs 4 beds though?!
Hmm - I am one of 5 siblings but I would not like to say how many properties we own between us
I already deleted it a few days back.
4 beds for 1 person? Maybe so she can store all her stuff in it as well?0 -

I could rent you and the missus a room each... Many commute to The Big Smoke from here
I cancelled my spareroom.com alert today (shouldn't have to rent for a while, touches wood). Building up to my rightmove houses for sale alert tomorrow0 -
I wish pre payment things were the same price as normal ones. I'd get a kick out of budgeting through summer for the gas and electric seeing it go up up and up......

Ah, but my brothers are all boomers (born 1957-1963), and first bought in the 1980s. I'm younger, but messed up the whole house-buying thing and then got in by a side door with LNE's life insurance.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
