I don't think I'd try it unless I had to be in before 7 or after 11...and for the after 11 I would also not to need to worry about being late.
I know, its the worst time if DH is coming with me, but if he isn't the Saving on the train ticket isn't so much (still some thing significant and the other advantages). I don't want to leave my car out west because then I lose some of the advantages of driving in, at the end of the day I'll be quite tired and walking is likely to be a bit sore, so not having to go far is a bit of a main motivation....:o0 -
Christening present for NDG?It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0

Do I like this or is it too fussy? dunno. The wiring seems very prominent .

Congratulations!
"Poppy-seed", I never named my bumps, though I've noticed this has become more fashionable over the years.
Thanks. I don't have a bump yet, I'm just knackered and sick. It's more a nick-name for the contents. OH called Isaac "Mini cub" until he was born, and actually for quite a while afterwards. That's because he called me a lion cub, as I have a mane, apparently.
My parents didn't know what any of us were until we were born; my sisters and I were all called "Edward" when bumps, but when my brother was born, they'd had enouhg of that as a name, I think....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I had a vague idea that I had arranged for DD to go away for a Brownie weekend some time in the autumn, but I hadn't put much thought into it and hadn't entered it on the calendar. It now turns out that it's not a weekend - it's four days during half term. But that means it clashes with the tickets I've bought to take DS and DD to the Mousetrap for DS's birthday. I need to pass the tickets on to somebody who will give me at least a bit of money for them, and get new ones for a different date. Mercifully DS is being entirely chilled about the prospect of a delay to the event. So... do any of the London NP know anybody who would like to buy three reduced price Mousetrap tickets for the matinee on Tuesday 29th October, and if not then please advise me on the best way forward for me in trying to find someone who'd like them?
You can sell tickets on gumtree (free) or something like seatwave where they take an administration charge
Have you rung the ticket office to see if you can change it for a different date?0 -

too much wiring for melostinrates wrote: »DH is planning to com in with me, so he'd have to hop out and get on the tube, but I'd have a few hours to sit in traffic.....
Now the am I really mad......
Do I risk driving a hire car in London? I'm confident in London traffic mainly because I don't really care that much if someone drives into me, but if they drove into a hire car I'd feel pants and it could be expensive. I've had two prangs (other people's fault) in London.
Hmm.....my car I think! Right, I'll see if I can get parking, then make the decision....
Can you get to somewhere where you can pick up a citycarclub or zipcar? They often have allocated parking spaces as well so no need to wrangle parking or worry about hire car costs as such. (unless you seriously DAMAGE the car)0 -

PN would say "112 quid for 3 bulbs hanging on a wire?"
I agree, it looks a bit ehm...unfinished.0 -

Yeah, you and misskool are right.
I'm pretty keen to find SOMETHING for the kitchen soon and I'm getting less fussy I guess. They have a bother one too, but its too'popular' and even more wires.0 -

Yeah, they do a bit. But I quite like that.
Its. A difficult balance. If you cannot get perfect, then quite nice, is worst than kitch IMO.
I still love the rocket dog lights best for the kitchen end of the kitchen but they have gone up from. 8 hundred and something each to over a grand each. And they'd be very dark, and they wouldn't go with my fantasy 24 k light that well either:rotfl:
