Why don't you just fly instead of driving everywhere. I like driving sometimes, like the road to Skye, for instance, but slogging back and forth everywhere on motorways must get pretty old pretty quickly and surely it's just a massive waste of time as well?

Secretly, I love the driving, plus the flexibility of having the car (in Geneva, for instance, there's very sporadic access to taxis which I need to get from the airport to the EBU offices)

The train would be quicker, but it's more expensive, and I prefer having the convenience of a car that I'm used to, rather than a 1.2 rental car with a manual gearbox (I ended up driving a clients car last week and I struggle to use a clutch now, as I've had auto since 2007)

Wear and tear on E-routes at a consistent 70-80mph (whistles) depending on country is also so tiny, it doesn't bear thinking about.

I have to admit I like driving too, if it's outside rush hour. My car is quite a nice place to be (even if it is a ten year old Peugeot 206!), feels like my space.

Things uneventful here, I've been buying supplies for little DIY jobs around the house. I'm living here very cheaply, and my mother if on her own would end up paying plumbers to do little things like changing washers in toilets, so if I can do things like that I feel like I'm repaying her at least a little bit!

Other than that I've been reading statistics textbooks and trying to refresh my memory! Going to be a lot of that stuff this coming year and I want to get a head start on it.

My parents commissioned a metal fountain - it is sort of loosely based on stems and leaves, the leaves are at the base of different sizes and each one vibrates at a different pitch when water lands on it producing a kind of atonal music when there is a light breeze. No idea what it cost but i suspect a lot less than the spheres which probably require chlorine in the water to stay clean.
    I think....

I am much better at buying DIY bits than actually getting on and doing the DIY.

Stats you say? Depending on what your first degree is in I know a company that might be interested in receiving a job application from you after you finish your course.
    I think....

    That sounds beautiful, michaels.

Can I have both please? :D

Yesterday was horribly hot, it feels a little bit cooler today.

A very stressful last 36 hours with middle son getting into a tizz over starting 6th form and going on an outing for the first day and youngest son going into meltdown mood at the thought of going back to school.

Thankfully, got middle son sorted at 3am Thursday morning...only to have to get up at 6.50 to take him to school for the trip, unfortunately, I had only been able to sleep for about an hour though.

Youngest was like a bear with a sore head, his new school blazer which had only arrived 20 minutes before (and cost £40!), was thrown, dragged and generally not treated well, new shoes were thrown, doors were slammed, tears were in evidence but we got him to school on time.

Not that he (or I) are happy, they have given him the same English teacher as last school year, the one who refuses to believe anything is wrong with him and who decided he didn't need any help in exams/tests/class work and sent the help away or didn't give youngest access to it. This all caused major problems in the last term and was instrumental in a further backwards slide in youngest....so 2nd day back and I am having to go for a meeting this morning to try to sort it out!

One good thing though, youngest has found a degree he would very much like to do and a university he feels comfortable with and wants to work towards it...so it might all turn around yet!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

That is quite a leap. Fantastic support and guidance from you will have been key but it makes me curious as to how he foundd it? What makes this prpspect feel comforatble for him and how can that 'translate' that into making his last years at school feel like that?

Work has been a really mixed bag this week, some real highs and now a real low with further depths to plunge.
My planned trip to London for tonight is definitely off as I cannot get away from work. Meeting with a NP and lovely hotel stay with OH not happening. Mr S has very sweetly said he will try to get home tonight.

Calm, measured, professional persona donned with the jacket, and breathe.

    I shall set off now.

Last couple of weeks caught up with me last night (with the weather change, lol).

I'm not so full of beans this morning and I'm a bit sore. :(
