I'm fine talking about things e.g. in meetings (though still struggle to find the 'proper' terms). As soon as it becomes a presentation it is completely different.

I'm sure my colleagues will find 'opportunities' to help me overcome my issues presenting...

A viva is not a presentation. It is a friendly two-way chat between you and your examiners about your thesis ... which you know all about and they don't. They can ask you why you did things, and how things worked, and so on, and you will know the answers because you did the research.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Really good underwear, a with so many things, is an underrated tool: use it well. ( if it turns out you may need it whisper and I'll buy you some as a present if you like). Pretty, comfortable and matching, makes you feel confident.

I already have my interview outfit...
I bought it 3 years ago when I give a presentation at a conference (and I thought a viva might be a few months later...). I wore it to my interview last year, so it's already had a couple of trial outings.

Reliable, comfortable and gives a good silhouette (not expecting for anyone to see it ;)
Likewise shoes that I know are comfortable and can walk in.

*Envy*. I am impressed. Anything I have that is three years old would be way too small for my current ample proportions.

I am sure you will enjoy your trip to the island. It sounds an ideal antidote to the intense time you have had.

Said in a mumsy tone(I'm a natural) "Be good. Take care. Have fun."

You don't have to be that good.

Well, the reliable and comfortable and good silhouette are excellent. But it should look like someone will see it,

Does wonders for confidence. Funny, huh? When dating doesn't necessarily!

I think it says more about the shape I was in 3 years ago (I'm pretty sure the past few weeks have seen me put back on most of the weight I lost earlier in the year too).

As one of my friends put it - going away is a good chance to 'defrag' :)

I hope to do all three of the things you advise.

Hmmmmm... we'll see. I'm hoping not to have to resort to showing my underwear ;)

    First things first...
