    7 year anniversary of.....?

For the unmarried I suppose there are a number of options. first date/ first xxx/ first becoming "an item"/ moving in together/ for the married it is much simpler.

I suppose the pressure is on unmarrieds more as there is always the possibility that an anniversary of some kind will lead to a proposal.

I think if you're not married it is an anniversary of when the female 'participant' decided that a relationship had commenced. Whether that means the first kiss, the first date or the first time she felt a sinking feeling of general disappointment I am unable to confirm.

So all of the above happened on the same day then?
    I think....

    For the NP country folk.

In The Times today, Matthew Parris declares your attitude to ragwort to be a class issue.,

"What I have learnt....is that ragwort is a class issue.
It is horse people who are convinced of the weed's toxicity;cattle people are less bothered, sheep people hardly at all."

Not being a country dweller, I was amused that people can be classified according to the animal they identify with, rather than their attitude to ragwort.

I would link to the whole article, but its behind a paywall.

Its not just an issue of identify paying with an animal. Ragwort is toxic to cattle and sheep and horses. It is essential to some butterflies. Its not cared about by some (but not all) cattle famers because they don't keep their cattle long enough to care about its health. Sheep its shocking for too.

If you are rearing organic meat, rearing dairy animals, or breeding (particularly good pedigree stock) not just short turnover meat animals ragwort is going to me of an issue for you financially and than if you buy in and raise beef calves.

Its Rarely eaten fresh in the field (which is why we see it, golden in the fields). Its only dangerous unless the animals are starving when fresh. The real issue is that is is eaten when dry or preserved in hay, haylage or silage.

Animals with low functioning livers are probably more susceptible to other diseases.....which may either be zoonotic, or more likely are those we routinely medicate in feed for, which brings its own problems and which many feel we need to get away from. Those educated in farm Food cycles and valueing that) and maybe that is agricultural class system showing a little) do care about such things somewhat, but also see the value of nature.

The reason horse people care is because we see the effects more often I think. Ragwort is very likely to be the reason the horse we didn't buy failed her blood test earlier this year, ragwort or worms. You'd be hard pushed to find a 'good' farmer who ignored a lot of ragwort tbh, or thought well of a farmer who did so of any sort of weed like that. Apart from buttercups, which they often ignore, and that surprises me for similar reasons (it has particular issues relating to fertility in farm animals not so much an issue for horses and more pronounced ones health issues in all species...yet you see all of them merrily grazing in it...I think its because its so hard to fight in wet uk)

Personally, I felt he answer is ragwort and other such thing 'reserves'. Town verges are pretty good places for this, away from seed drift into grass or arable land.

    Nice parents.

I have been reminded to day not all parents are so good. Please extend nice person good wishes, or kisses to the nice children from me. The one today I feel powerless to do anything for, even a smile was met with a suspicious look and I had to fight the want to hug the child who wanted to run, and indeed, did stalk off round the field alone.

Oh dear. 7 year anniversary on Friday and I forgot to do anything about it. I don't think Heston or Gordon will have any availability at their chefs' tables at this late notice. Any suggestions (fleeing the country is not an option)?
Should have whisked her away for the weekend.....

    Just a thought.

Looking at wikipedia for 7 years of marriage it says "wool, copper" for presents.
It suggests you buy a pen and pencil set for a desk.

I bet that'd go down well....

    7 years, it's practically compulsory.

If he doesn't it'll be the whole "Choose ... marry me or s0d off" conversation.

And common peasants don't even know what it is/couldn't spot it in a field of cow pats.

hope it is OK, what were the 'things' you mentioned in passing that he reacted to?
    .

    :)All appears to be well.

I am to have a scan and await some results, but it seems that a procedure I had a couple of years ago could be the source of the symptom . Once scan/ results known other action can be decided on. The Consultant thought my GPs speedy actions were the right path to follow.

It wasn't things, just one symptom. Sorry if this is tmi (shy folks look away), but for the benefit of NP women aged 50+ on NPT and for NPT partners/husbands of such women I am going to answer fc's question...I mentioned some bleeding. Post menopausal bleeding is a cause for concern, so if there is any of this get pm status checked and follow it up.

OH offered to come with me but took myself to the appt as prior experience tells me if it were 'rough news' I would prefer to get my own head round things first . My beloved husband has not slept very well since Thursday night, I have slept just fine:) but was adopting a stoic mental attitude on the drive there:o. Happily no faux heroics needed.

Thank you all for wishing me well when I posted, I appreciate you listening and felt cared for.

I am definitely getting her a pen and pencil set now. Will go down a treat, she can use the pen to sign when paying her half of the dinner bill.
