Oh dear. 7 year anniversary on Friday and I forgot to do anything about it. I don't think Heston or Gordon will have any availability at their chefs' tables at this late notice. Any suggestions (fleeing the country is not an option)?

Deluxe supper at home, with jewellery, scented things, and something barely wearable from agent provocateur *Planned, luxury stay in.

    *edit...not for you.

No. I have to take her out somewhere it is compulsory. Even if I cooked the greatest meal ever and then let her watch CSI she would still be disappointed with a night in.

I have panic booked some overpriced job with a 15 course tasting menu. That should kill off any passion nicely. Wrong side of London though so the taxi home is going to be a bit steep!

You seem very confident that she will never find your comments on here. Does she not know about the NPT?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

She knows that I hadn't booked anything so it wouldn't come as a surprise to her. She posts on MSE sometimes so I suppose she could find and read this thread if she wanted to.

    7 year anniversary of.....?

For the unmarried I suppose there are a number of options. first date/ first xxx/ first becoming "an item"/ moving in together/ for the married it is much simpler.

I suppose the pressure is on unmarrieds more as there is always the possibility that an anniversary of some kind will lead to a proposal.

    For the NP country folk.

In The Times today, Matthew Parris declares your attitude to ragwort to be a class issue.,

"What I have learnt....is that ragwort is a class issue.
It is horse people who are convinced of the weed's toxicity;cattle people are less bothered, sheep people hardly at all."

Not being a country dweller, I was amused that people can be classified according to the animal they identify with, rather than their attitude to ragwort.

I would link to the whole article, but its behind a paywall.
