    I don't really understand Pinterest.

How to use it or anything.

People love it so I must be missing something.

It works by acting as online pinboards for yourself (or to market your business). What happens is, you create an account, then when you see something lovely you "pin" it to your board. You can create many boards, e.g. yours might be Horses, House Renovation, Nice Restaurants. Then, when you spot something you want to add to your board you "pin" it there. Thus creating what is effectively an online scrapbook of places, ideas, images.

If you are looking for, say, bathtubs, then type that in the search box and you see bathtubs that other people have found and pinned to their boards.

Once you're on their board looking at a horse, a kitchen cabinet, or a restaurant, you can then "repin" it to one of your boards.... or, if you discover a nice doggy picture, you might then create a new board for yourself called "doggies".

It's just online scrapbook pictures/reminders that can be searched and viewed by the world.

    Here's a search for copper bathtub: http://pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=copper%20bathtub

Here is an example of a business (a magazine) using it to promote themselves: http://pinterest.com/wiltshirelife1/

If you have an account and choose to "follow" somebody you are then notified every time they post something new.... so it should be used sparingly.

Edit: Oh - and you don't HAVE to have an account, you can juse use it as your search engine for pretty things.

Good. Talking of fiascos (fiascoes? fiasci?) what's the latest news about the boiler fiasco?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

    Fiaschi apparently.

It's been a horrible week Chez Generali. We've had 2 'flus go through the house in the week.

Generalissimo was off school Mon-Wed, Generalissima was off Mon, Wed & Thurs. I was off work Mon, Tues and Thur (and was moaned at for working today). Mrs Generali was off Thur and Fri.

I've got a nice, restful weekend ahead: Generalissimos are out tomorrow afternoon and are coming back with MiL for dinner tomorrow night. I made a rather good beef stew yesterday which I can make into a pie which will do perfectly.

I have no plans for Sunday either. I might see if I can sneak off for an hour or 2 at the local library.

I'd make a Teviot Pie if I had that stew and wanted to make a pie. Suet crust pastry....
  • I have plans for now. I'm going to bed. Which (apart from a 40 min interval last night) is the first time I've been in a bad since 7am yesterday morning.

    Night all!
