  • Thanks mfmaybe and Jonesy - just need to rediscover my motivation and will power! Weighed in this week and had maintained so not too bad.

Credit card bill came thru last night so have made a £30 payment taking the months total to £50. Not sure I'm going to be able to pay anymore it's been such an expensive month

Need to have a sort out at the week end and get some stuff on eBay to make a few more pennies - still got 2 weeks to payday and it's going to be tight :(
  • Arrrgh need to get back on track

Have spent all month pretty much in limbo as far as the finances are concerned. Have been waiting on a number of biggish bills to come thru before I can commit the money to card. Between the car, pony and house nearly £800 has been paid out in emergency bills and insurance renewal. Thankfully I had my small emergency fund otherwise we'd have had to add to the card. Still waiting on another 2 bills - continuation of those from this month, am expecting these to be a further £400ish :(

In better news it's payday on Wednesday at long last. Need to have a play with my budget and get a plan in place for the coming month to allow me to pay off the pending bills and chuck as much as possible at the card. Freezer is well stocked as are the store cupboards so I'm hoping the food shop for the month can be cut back a wee bit.

Spent last night listing on eBay - taking full advantage of the free listing :D no bids so far but keeping everything crossed stuff will sell. Need to have a damn good sort out and get some stuff together for a car boot once the weather improves.

Have managed to swag £15 amazon cards which will be used towards a couple of birthdays I have next months. $wagbucks has seemed painfully slow lately - need to persevere though as it really does help out with Christmas and birthdays.

Right - off to find some motivation and a positive attitude - have a good day :)
  • Not had chance to do Febs scores on the doors - I think mainly because it's not looking good :( will pull the figures together and post later.

Weigh in this week was somehow a 1lb loss :D not sure how but definitely not complaining lol!

Gonna be another spendy month - paid £170 in vets bills yesterday and am expecting an invoice for fixing a leak in the next few days :( at least there's no council tax to pay this month!

Need to pop to Aldi and get what I can from there. Brought the mirror yesterday so have a £5 off £40 spend voucher to use.

Have a couple of bids on my eBay items and a few watchers - fingers crossed they pick up a little bit before they finish on Sunday.

Off to check the accounts and try and get an action plan in place!
  • Right, finally got round to Feb's monthly update .......
Overdraft was £0 now -£144.76
Credit card was £2490 now £2440

    Total increase =£94.76

Grrrrr! A really pants months financially, too many unexpected bills. Fingers crossed March is better.

Weight loss is the grand total of 1lb, making a total loss of 1 stone 3llb since the end of September. Have got about 10lbs to go - need to get re-focused.

    Swagbucks - swagged £10agc.

    Goals for March:
    1. Pay off overdraft
    2. Exercise exercise exercise
    4. Lose 4lb before end of March
    5. Swag £15
    6. eBay at least £50

Let's hope March is a wee bit more successful!
  • Been AWOL this week. Money situations not really changed, but have sent off the cheque to pay for the last lot of repairs so now should be able to get refocused on paying off the cc.

Weight wise lost a lb last week which takes me to my 10% of original body weight loss landmark - also means a free week, so £4.95 saved :j. 1 st 4lb down and 10lb to go.......

Had a couple go items sell on eBay last night for £13. Going to chuck this at the od and try and get that paid off before the months out.

Have managed to keep the oh away from the supermarket this weekend, so just a £14 spend in Aldi to keep us ticking over for the week.

Hoping for a nice low spend week ......
  • Arrrrgh  really need to restore some sort of order in my life! Feel like I'm fire fighting all the time at the minute lol!

    Main gripes at the mo.......
    1. The credit card - this has got to go and sooner rather than later. I'm hoping it'll be cleared over the next 5 pay packets, altho I've said that before...
    2. Emergency fund is non existent :( don't want to be sent into panic each time an unexpected bill rears it's head.
    3. New car fund - my poor car is on borrowed time. Had started putting a bit a side but has been used as my emergency fund wasn't big enough to cope with the emergencies we've had year to date.
    4. My house is a tip!!!! Thinking of adopting something along the lines of fly lady to help with this. Get sick of my weekends vanishing to playing catch up on the house hold chores. Really need to get OH on board with this - I can't do everything.
    5. My weight  so near and yet so far..... Only 10lb off my goal and 3lb off my sw goal (May be more after tonight). Just need to refind some motivation as at the minute it's left me. I love exercise but just too exhausted to do it at the minute.
    6. Reclaim a little bit of me time.....

Sorry for the negative post, but getting it all down will be useful in helping me formulate my plan.

Not really anything to report in other news, just ticking along til pay day next week spending as little as possible!

    Good morning!
Weigh in this week was 1lb gain - really can't moan as diet this week has been terrible. Might also account for my crappy mood :(

Paid £56 towards the cc yesterday. Not much progress has been made this month as have been paying off the remainder of the emergency vet and home repair bills from last month. Fingers crossed that's the back of them and normali-ish business can resume next month.

    Things to do today........
    1. List all the things that I'd like to do to the house in order to formulate some sort of action plan.
    2. Put away the huge pile of clean washing accumulating in the utility.
    3. Worm the boys
    4. Meal plan
  • Time for March's totals and it ain't pretty lol!

Credit card was £2440 now £2433.08

    Overdraft was £144.76 now £79.32

    Total paid off = £72.36

Weight loss for March = 0.5 lb increase

    Swagged = £10

More effort needed on all fronts me thinks

I don't think it's any coincidence that the less I'm writing in this diary, the more my focus slips, so need to make a conscious effort this month to keep this update 2-3 times a week.

Spent the weekend tidying the house from top to bottom and have now sorted my own adaptation of fly lady to help me keep on top of it - we'll see how it goes.

This months swags have paid for another birthday present so I'm pleased with that - my pressie box is now looking quite healthy again and it's great not to have that last minute panic and spending more than I want just for because I'm not organised.

Jobs for the next couple of days......
    1. Do stock take of cupboards and Freezer BEFORE going to the supermarket.
    2. Sort garage out and do a tip run.
    3. Declutter for eBay and car boot.
    4. Reassess budget - def need an emergency fund.
    5. Fly, fly, fly

Been a good weekend but a spendy one. Done the big shop- spent about £100 but did manage to save £7 in coupons. Cupboards are well stocked as is the freezer, so will only need fresh stuff in the next couple of weeks.

Meal plan has been sorted for the week, so shouldn't be any additional spend there.

The car has now been switched for a more economical one. I'm hoping that the money it's saving us in running costs will mean it all but pays for itself. Thankfully we were able to borrow the money interest free from family. It is scheduled to be paid off over 2 years but I'm hoping we can reduce this once we've got a grip on everything else. Still need to get rid of the old car which should hopefully bring in a couple of £100.

Paid £73.08 off credit card tonight - will hopefully be able to pay more once my wages go in.

To do list points 1,2 & 5 sorted. I'm implementing fly lady 15 mins flys. It's amazing what you can achieve in 15 mins and it's definitely making a difference.
