Been with Talktalk a few years, so so service.

it does pay to haggle and ring retentions when your contract is nearly up.

    Just got medium fibre broadband
    18 month contract

half price essentials for 18 month
£2 loyalty discount for 12 months
anytime calls at £5 a month
    free international calls
    fibre at £5 per month

line rental is currently £114 a year saving £60 on monthly cost.

My bill per month now £11.25 will rise to £13.25 after a year.(excluding line rental and the October increase which should see about £1 a month added to my bill)

So I get fibre broadband line rental anytime calls free international calls for a grand current total of £20.75 per month, will go up in October by £1 and hoping that value line rental will stay as it is due to be renewed then too.

Not a bad deal for an existing customer, as a matter of curiosity
anyone got a better deal than that?

    Thanks
    Joe

Not bad. Im with plus net and pay the same for Line apart from the Fibre which is £5 more due to being one of the first PN Fibre customers. ( First on the exchange I believe)

Now Ive come off my 18 month Fibre contract with Plusnet. This is great information now Im looking for a better deal. Thanks

currently with plusnet, with anytime calls, (goes up 50p a month) currently have line rental saver, good job i guess, paid up till dec, does anyone know if the line rental saver is auto renewed? or can i cancel that at anytime (with 30 days notice)
if it wasnt for the line rental paid up front i prob would have moved due to increases (it runs out in Dec, so no point cancelling just yet.as i dont think you get a rebate of months left of line rental saver if you move

I have the same package nitty gritty. The LRS is not automatically renewed you have to ask for it.I did so in the last month of my previous years LRS to start again immediately.

i am fairly certain you would not get any rebate if you left them.i am more than happy with the price i am paying,i was a customer of madasafish, then changed to plusnet.Their customer service is excellent

Why not register on their forum via their website and follow all the chat about the price increases.

And so the latest round of price rises starts

My LTS runs out at the end of September, I'm pondering if I should change providers from Plusnet, only to get a new customer discount with another company. Because loyalty doesn't pay.

I have always found with plusnet that loyalty DOES pay,you could always ask,and at least you could renew the LRS at the old price and get your free phone calls if that is the option you have.

After hearing horror stories of some providers i wouldn't want to risk it.

I was persuaded to enter a new 2 year fixed price contract in April, just 4 months ago, yet Plusnet have reneged on this and said they didn't know of this proposed increase at that time so they can increase my charges.
    Is this breach of contract?
Would anyone care to discuss making a group legal challenge for breach of contract?
What a shabby company Plusnet has become.

never known plusnet to have 2 year contracts? unless its to do with fibre?
either way if they raise the prices which they are doing, and it effects you then you simply ring them and ask to leave penalty free, which your entitled to do

you have 10 days from them notifying you

"never known plusnet to have 2 year contracts?"
Yes they certainly do, possibly just for retentions. I agreed to a 2 year contract, 'phone and unlimited ADSL b/b 5th July last through customer options.
I 'm just a little annoyed because they obviously knew then of the imminent price rises announcement but realise they weren't obliged to tell me. I renewed my line rental saver soon after too, so if I cancelled because of the rises I'd have to forfeit that. So I'll just continue.
Achieved a reasonable "deal" anyway for a Mkt. 1 exchange. However, my exchange is probably going to be re-classified in the next Ofcon changes next year which will, no doubt, result in an upfront reduction in b/b prices from PN at the exchange!
Still happy with the service though.
