judging by a lot of my customers, it would appear not a lot is the answer (I'm a postwoman, I can't even begin to tell you the sights I've seen)

I'm sure you could... will some chocolate ice cream get you talking? :D

At least you're one up on the Fire Brigade who have to remove various bits of people's anatomy from various bits of domestic equipment.:D

honestly, some things are better left unsaid - I think women assume it's not so bad when they find a female postie at the door. I find that it is mostly the more rotund folk of either gender who appear to wear less (not saying there is anything wrong with this, but sometimes I wish I had the ability to remove the images from my brain :-D )

    I've been Money Tipped!
It's not just posties who get this at work - on a couple of occasions when I've been inspecting little corner shops that has attached living accomodation I've asked the staff if the owner is available...they say I'll get him, then a middle aged obese bloke in boxers and a dirty vest two sizes too small is summonsed from the living accommodation. blech
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

I've flashed to the positie before....I'm always running downstairs caught unawares, especially by couriers who knock really early sometimes.

I'm always ordering stuff. So I leg it down half covered in a towel I think........not really bothered if I'm flashing anything as I'm too tired and can barely see through my bed head.

I've not had one refuse to deliver.....yet....:rotfl: I'm not obese either...for clarification.....I like to sleep free!

I don't answer the door to any unexpected guests. If I was expecting someone then as a friend I'd feel comfortable in anything really.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

I always grab a dressing gown at the very least, I would rather miss a caller than than open the door to someone in a towel or something revealing.

I don't understand people who would answer the door in any less state of undress than they would if they went to the shop for example

but what if its the postie and the postie calls early enough in the morning that you're still in bed? In those circumstances, I've answered the door with my pjs on, and hair unbrushed, because I don't want to have to wait til next day to go collect my parcel from the sorting office.

Also, home is where you come to relax - that includes answering your own front door. So there are definitely occasions where I've opened my own front door in a state that I wouldn't go shopping in ie just in from the garden in my scruffiest oldest clothes and shoes, or just done a marathon spring cleaning session, again I wear old scruffy clothes to do that. And if you've been out in the garden sunbathing in a bikini and shorts, why wouldn't you answer your front door like that?

OP I wouldn't be mortified - you were wearing what amounts to a strapless dress (loads of people wear versions of that out and about in this weather).
