So I heaved it up over my bosoms (thank goodness for elasticated waistbands!) and answered the door.
If I'd been calling I would have prayed for a stiff breeze! :D

Just wondering if I should be mortified ...

Heard a quiet knock at the door earlier, and as it was very hot I was sitting at the computer wearing not much more than a skirt. So I heaved it up over my bosoms (thank goodness for elasticated waistbands!) and answered the door.

Probably wouldn't have cared if it had been a complete stranger, but it was a local youngster, returning something I'd lent to the family, and asking if our internet was OK as theirs was on the blink and they needed to check something online.

    :o

How mortified should I have been? Youngster didn't bat an eyelid and returned later with rest of family, maybe they didn't notice?

I tend to shove on a dressing gown or something.......makes life easier and less embarrassment all round!;)

Normally, I probably would, but the fact that it was a knock rather than a doorbell made me think someone had been there for a while.

Also my dressing gown (and the rest of my clothes) were upstairs, and I was down, and I'd have looked pretty silly if I'd grabbed my coat!

Not to mention the fact that people have 'caught' me in pjs or dressing gown before now, and I feel just as embarrassed! :rotfl:

I did, btw, go and dress before the whole family came back to borrow our internet ...

Ive grabbed my coat more than once when the rest of my clothes were upstairs.

Oh and yes, I did feel pretty silly.

I always grab a dressing gown at the very least, I would rather miss a caller than than open the door to someone in a towel or something revealing.

I don't understand people who would answer the door in any less state of undress than they would if they went to the shop for example
The opposite of what you know...is also true

judging by a lot of my customers, it would appear not a lot is the answer (I'm a postwoman, I can't even begin to tell you the sights I've seen)

It's hard to say. I think I require pictures, or at the very least, a very detailed drawing to properly pass comment on this extremely complex and pressing issue.

Therefore, I request images... for science!
