Your first teacher is a stranger.

So you would leave your children with complete strangers abroad?

When your children start school you don't bother attending the open days getting to know all of the staff and discussing your childs needs with their teacher, you just dump them there on day one?

As a father of two daughters , I KNOW that soon you will change your mind . The kids will meet new friends and have a much better time than hanging around with Mum and Dad . Also the BEST holiday , is the first time you leave the kids behind. You won't believe me , but then I would not have thought that when my kids were really small.

Will remind you of my post in about 15 years time.

I have had four kids, and none of them ever went to the kids club. We holiday as a family and have always tailored our holidays to suit us all. We lead such busy lives that family time is what we go away to add to not get away from.

I grant you that holidays without the family are great, but if they are with us we are together not apart.

Child will be starting school very soon , suggest you get a grip on your problem . Kids will be fine.
That's harsh, my child has been at school for a year already and my eldest into her 3rd come sept, its a totally different thing, don't expect that kind of attitude, its not a problem its the fact I want to know who, what and where and I feel more comfortable having my children with me than leaving them in a kids club with people who may not watch them at all times and who is coming in and out.
I don't agree with kids clubs on holiday, if you take your kids away u keep them with you, if u want to shove them in kids clubs then don't take them, its as much their holiday as it is ours and I know my two will be happy playing in the pool and on the beach, they can do soft play, activities etc at home. Don't mean that to come across as rude but with teachers u know they are qualified and have had all the relevant checks, the schools are secure (well ours are) and they are safe. im grateful for your help.

If you're taking your credit card I wouldn't worry too much, just have enough in cash to do the essentials but you then have the security of knowing that if you find something you want to do e.g. water park etc you can still pay for it. Just remember to inform your provider when you will be in Spain sometimes they still temporarily block your card so take the bank/providers phone number etc so if they do you can sort it out.

As they are little they're probably going to want the typical things like pretty bracelets that are on offer, lots of ice cream, hair braids, bucket and spade, if you are spending a lot of time on the beach in some areas you rent umbrella's but its cheaper to just buy one for the week from a local shop.

Hope you have a fab time.
Thank you, they have already spent most of it on flamenco dresses, clogs and fans, :rotfl: got to love having girls :D
Thanks for the credit card advice, wouldn't have thought of that :o

Will have to talk about the past , daughters are now well grown up

Am a shocking awful parent, yes I abandoned my kids to the horrors of the kids club ............ they loved it , made friends , had a great time.

As for your second part ........ my youngest daughter , fully qualified meets her new class , for the first time on day one. Apart from those youngsters who go to the nearby private nursery, they get half a day back in July to visit. That is of course many weeks before Sept entrance , so most still treat it as a 'first' visit.

Yet to come across a reputable kids club, they're mainly manned by half cut 20 year olds who can't be bothered.

I've never had a problem with kids clubs that are run by the major travel companies, most that we have used have been very good, the others have been excellent, as for half cut 20 year olds, rather than make assumptions, have you ever considered that instead of being half cut, they are actually knackered, they don't just turn up at the hotel for a couple of hours each day then go off and enjoy themselves, they generally have other duties outside kids club, they work long hours, 6 days a week for very little money.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

What sort of places do you stay at, sounds dodgy to me!

We've used the clubs for the children and have found that a break from the sun doing activities in an air-conditioned rooms with new friends is fun for them.

I know it wasn't the original question but I'm another who doesn't see the point of AI, that's not what I travel for. Even on 'chill-out' holidays I still want to see local towns, visit a range of local restaurants, speak to people etc. I suppose if OP is Spanish she doesn't feel the need.
