We like to have a look around especially as this will be our first with our girls, the day out we have planned is an early birthday treat for my nearly 4 year old as its her birthday a few days after we get home so we are going to marine land as she loves dolphins etc. Its lovely to chill and lie by the pool and be waited on all day. They even have the kids clubs but I wont be putting my girls in them after all its a family holiday, I can shove them in kids clubs at home plus I don't feel comfortable doing it on holiday.0

As a father of two daughters , I KNOW that soon you will change your mind . The kids will meet new friends and have a much better time than hanging around with Mum and Dad . Also the BEST holiday , is the first time you leave the kids behind. You won't believe me , but then I would not have thought that when my kids were really small.

Hollie84,
To get back to your original question:
Hi everyone, me and my husband and 2 girls are off on holiday to spain next month, its our first abroad as a family, we are all inclusive and im wondering how many euro's we should take? we have planned a day out which we know is already going to cost 70euros.
I would say that the answer to this depends upon whether you will be taking any credit cards with you, for use in case of emergencies.
I’d also point out that you haven’t, in any of your postings, given the remotest clue as to how long you are going away for. A week? A fortnight? A month?
Without knowing that, how can anyone judge how much you’ll want to spend?
Whatever may be the answer to that, my own advice would be to take at least €500 – preferably €1,000 – in cash, in addition to what your day out will cost you. This is not (or, at least, not all) to spend: hopefully, you will be able to bring most of it back. No; this is your personal security money.
If, heaven forbid, you or one of your children has an accident or gets ill, you need to have enough money available in cash to be able to deal with things immediately, without having to run around trying to find the funds to pay for whatever's necessary.

I just feel very funny about leaving them with anyone I don't know unless im there to watch them, im very dark skinned ( Spanish) but my youngest is like her daddy and very fair with blonde hair and I know what the locals are like for blonde little girls, I just don't feel comfortable, my mum and dad are coming as well so there is more than enough to watch the kids and keep them entertained, id much rather have them with me driving me mad than leaving them in the care of someone else and risk anything happening. BUT we did say we will see how secure it all is and make a decision then but they wont be in there constantly as its a family holiday. We left them for a week last year when we honeymooned in Greece. As a father of two daughters , I KNOW that soon you will change your mind . food poisoning. or Sunburn ??
Food poisoning , short stay !!! in the bathroom , replace the lost fluids.
Take some meds .
Sunburn ..... more painful , lasts longer . can't sleep and not a lot you can practically do
To sum up ......... why do we go abroad ??0 -
If you're taking your credit card I wouldn't worry too much, just have enough in cash to do the essentials but you then have the security of knowing that if you find something you want to do e.g. water park etc you can still pay for it. Just remember to inform your provider when you will be in Spain sometimes they still temporarily block your card so take the bank/providers phone number etc so if they do you can sort it out.
As they are little they're probably going to want the typical things like pretty bracelets that are on offer, lots of ice cream, hair braids, bucket and spade, if you are spending a lot of time on the beach in some areas you rent umbrella's but its cheaper to just buy one for the week from a local shop.
Hope you have a fab time.0
