Why does anyone consider an Audi or VW when there is a Skoda equivalent for less?

Whats that got to do with the price of fish?

maybe it wasn't the best analogy, but it was similar to the question you asked.

people prefer a Vauxhall badge over a Suzuki badge, just like people prefer a VW badge over a Skoda badge and are prepared to pay for it.

    Crazy but true.

Didn't really think it would need explaining.

PS do you still think the Picanto looks like a Micra

Should have gone to Specsavers ;-)
  • Not sure what the warranty is on Suzuki but same car re badged. If bought new and was keeping a long time the Vauxhall has lifetime warranty upto 100,000 as long as servicing is carried out at dealer and is re activated yearly.
  • Have you considered a Toyota Aygo?

I got an Aygo Fire in feb and am chuffed to bits with it, it's a great little car. Nice to drive, an absolute dream to park and really economic on the fuel - for example, I did a round trip Liverpool-Durham and the fuel cost me under £30 - when I did it in my old renault clio last year it cost me well over £50 for the same journey! I got a good deal as well, mine was 'pre-registered' so got a good deal, and only 10 miles on the clock. If you're okay for credit they also do 0% on them at Toyota garages if you're after a new one.

Also, just had a crash (rear ended while stationary), the guy walloped into me at (he claims) about 30mph I think possibly a little faster, it was on 30mph road so he may have been protesting innocence a bit...I was expecting the back of the car to be a wreck when I got out, but it's back from the garage and they said only minimal damage considering the speed, it's a sturdy little thing. It came out of the crash better than I did!!

My sis in law has an Agila and that's a good little car too - for me the Toyota pips it for feel, drive and also a bit more stylish, but the Agila seems decent to.

We were told by the salesman that servicing could be carried out anywhere competent (ie not "your mate") as long as it meets
Vauxhall standards - (so that's Halfords out then)
and "lifetime" is only 10 years / 100,000 miles - which ever first....

    OK She wants an Up/Citigo/Mii
    Now the problems start
For equivalent models (base) - the Citigo is the cheapest of the three - but if we go up a couple of notches - they all have different equipment levels.

Would I be correct in assuming that VW would have a higher 2nd hand value than the other two ?
    Advice please......
