Then her home for Council Tax purposes would be her 'base' unless her boyfriend wants to claim responsibility for her and tell the Council she is living with him?
and please note. she just with me this week from her univeristy, not like thatI am not hiding her under a cupboard from the council for a year long!0 -

According to this report, only 72% of new graduates are currently in full-time employment, with 9% unemployed
Don't you class 91% as most then?
"9% of those grapes have gone bad, but most of them are okay."
"I got most of the exam questions right. I only got 9% wrong."
"I've got most of the deposit together for my new house. I'm only 9% off."Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

thanks for your kind word.
That's on my mind too.
That is why I am not sure how to approach the council (even all I say is truth)0 -

Thanks for your advice.
She never change the address of your banks and the electoral roll even when she was live away at university.
She could check her bank account on line and she keep moving around near her campus so she never find the urge to change address.0 -

I could tell you I go shopping for all the nearly expiry food, cheapest staffs. one meal a day. I don't drink or smoke. If you come live with people like us, you know how little we spend as we have no money to spend.
I think there are plenty of people on this forum who work 40 hours a week and still have to live modestly and also have very little left to spend on luxuries.
But please thank your daughter for not claiming what she is entitled too - we all appreciate it.
Perhaps you could explain to her that taking the help won't make her any less of a person and that she has the rest of her life to pay back into the pot should she decide to borrow from it. But if you're both determined she is to refuse the help available then you'll need to prove her lack of income to the council I assume.0 -
Sorry but it looks like your daughter is staying with you and you are then responsible for paying full CT.
If your DD is prepared to claim JSA you might be able to get a small reduction in the total CT you have to pay, but I am not too sure on that.
You would be better asking your DD to sign on and then she might be able to give you money towards your full CT bill.0 -

Ok, dear notanewuser,
To me ,you look like just want to make argument only.
I read newspaper, there are lots of last year graduate still unemployed, what do you say?
you just want argument, don't you ? no other purpose.
you just take advantage because this is a open forum, don't you.
do you really trust those figure instead of real people.
do you really not knowing how the government to fiddle nos and how to measure this statistics.
do you really read all the related reports, study it , analysis the record. do you know how they gather such report? how to set upon the questions. How many graduate get a temp job (one day could count full time employment) or part time job (one hour could count or stand by on call part time worker like working with sports direct).
anyway thanks for your time.
please note I would not response any of your question as they are just for argument.
Also note, this post is not about how 'stupid' my daughter not getting employment.0 -

As you are saying entitlement:
If I like, I could be on welfare a long time ago as I was a single parent with a young kid. I never did even the money I take home is just a bit better.

I'm now an HR consultant. I was head of recruitment for a hotel chain until I had my daughter a couple of years ago. So yes, I do understand employment markets, and working graduates and everything else in between. Over the past 18 years I've employed tens of thousands of graduates (and non-graduates) in the hotel industry.
I haven't described you or your daughter as stupid. I think perhaps you're reading subtext that simply isn't there.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
