So you suggest every youngster in this country should not even have a try to sort out their live .
They should take the easy way, take the benefit and run.
Do you know how many graduate in a year, if just 1 in 5 to apply for welfare, could you image how costly that is?
As we all know that our economy situation is not looking good. I hope you should encourage people like my daughter instead of stepping down on their spirit.
My daughter has her 'pride thing'.
These youngster are our future in our society and their contribution would help to pay our pension (as you and me would have one day) etc.
Anyway thanks to your time0 -

Absolutely not. I'm amazed she hasn't sorted herself out with a job at the start of the year like most graduates will have.
It was just that with you saying she didn't want to claim JSA it sounded like she didn't want to look for work (waiting until you've graduated is too late really). And she's living on credit that will have to be paid back, and in 2 short years that is going to get very expensive. It's a dangerous game to play.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Thanks for your advice.
As I said before, my daughter is very good to budget and she doesn't spend.
I wonder : maybe lots of youngsters drink and spend a lot, now every youngster get label now.
If things not as plan,I am sure she would ask for temp help with the welfare office unless the government change rules again.
My daughter do have her pride thing. She worked do hard to graduate, you could image she doesn't feel right to jump onto the welfare.0 -

.
I don't understand this forum.
you already jump to say the conclusion like that. I would like to ask you politely : were you there in the earlier of this year when she applied lots of job?
Do you read news about the employment market at all?
It seems no one actually appreciate she doesn't want a hand-out and blaming her not to apply for the welfare money.
What kind of society we live in?0 -

Goodness me. Some people really don't want help, do they?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
I would really advise her not to touch her overdraft while she has no income coming in to the account, the bank can and will pull the overdraft if they suspect that is what she is doing, they will then demand payment within a fairly short time frame usually 30 days but 7 days is not unheard of, if she can't repay she will end up with a trashed credit file and debt collectors looking for payment.
These things could affect her future for many years, some jobs require a credit check and in the above scenario her chances would be affected.
The best thing she can do is to apply for JSA to help until she is employed she really does not want to be relying on an overdraft.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

You're being very defensive when all anyone is doing is trying to help your daughter, and yourself by trying to make you look long term.
She might regret her 'pride thing' when the bank removes her overdraft/when it's no longer interest free. The help is there for her, and not only is she getting herself into more debt than necessary she is also causing you problems by not taking it.
You never know, they may actually be able to help her find a job too.0 -

Like most graduates, eh?
According to this report, only 72% of new graduates are currently in full-time employment, with 9% unemployed“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

and one more thing.
If she did apply for the welfare money, I don't have anything to sort out. I don't have to worry how to approach the council (even all things are true)
If she did apply for the welfare money, I don't need to post this thread and learn that no one appreciate for her not apply for a hand-out money.
Look like all her fault is not applying money
No one really look at my question, just assumption all sort.
I could tell you I go shopping for all the nearly expiry food, cheapest staffs. one meal a day. I don't drink or smoke. If you come live with people like us, you know how little we spend as we have no money to spend.
People like me take one day at a time. We don't make trouble and try to get by as much as we could.
Anyway thanks for your time0
