You need a decent primer, no powder will cover it up as the oil will melt the powder away. I have the same trouble with my nose, I use this stuff, it's light as air and works really well.

Thanks kadison. I will give it a go. I am always worried about putting new products on my skin because I am prone to spots, especially on my chin. I am fed up of the oily chin though so is worth a go.

I have tried applying mattifying moisturisers before putting on my make up but no luck with them either.

Thank you to evilsquid for your advice too - it def seems that primer is the way to go!

Would this also work for a shiny forehead? Went to a lovely wedding a few weeks back and looked (if I say so myself) very nice, apart from my shiny forehead in photos! Fed up with it. :(

    A couple of UUs:
    - Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream sachet - did not like this at all, BB creams don't seem to give my skin the moisture it needs.
    - L'Oreal eye makeup remover - came from my swap buddy back in Feb. Very nice stuff, was gentle with my sensitive skin. WBA when I need some more.

    A few INs:

    - L'Occitane 5 essential oils shampoo and conditioner (freebie sample bottles).

My new OPI collection came yesterday and I love all the colours though am still lemming that Alcatraz Rocks one as well. Maybe I'll have a little look at the Trafford Centre tomorrow. I will be buying a new Essie top coat whilst there though. It seems that I can't get the one I usually like over here which is the To Dry For. Will get the Good to Go one instead.

Which colours did you get VALM ? Ive just ordered Alcatraz rocks (and preordered its frosty outside) from Nail polish direct for £6.99 each - free delivery if you spend £10.

There is also some Essie to dry for Amazon Marketplace if you dont have any success finding any.

Hi Moneyless mac. I got the Lombard colour, Love, Peace and OPI, Muir Muir on the Wall and Embarca Dare you in the kit. I also bought Alcatraz Rocks from JL at Trafford Centre on Sunday. Am wearing Muir at the moment with AR on my ring fingers. It is gorgeous. I got the last bottle on display as well so was a bit giddy. Picked up a bottle of Essie Good to Go whilst at TC too.

It takes the excess shine right out of my skin, leaves it looking lovely and dewy, it seems to do the job for me!

No really, can you compact it down to a line or two, it was a serious comment :rotfl:

BTW when it comes to waffling, you can't beat me, I can waffle like a Belgian (see what I did there?) :D

Had a little flurry of uu this morning

Lush Snow Fairy - this was the small bottle, WBA, lovely scent which made my bathroom smell really nice for ages.

No7 Microdermabrasion for face - WMBA, it does a good job but despite rinsing well I could never get rid of every last bit.

Charles Worthington Salon at Home Diamond Shine - This is a pre-wash treatment and I found that applying it to dry hair meant I used quite a lot. I have another in the stash and after that I probably WNBA, it is quite expensive and my hair was no shinier than when I use regular conditioner.

At the moment my uu exceed my ins which is very rare for me.

KT2802: have you tried mineral foundation? It's easy to layer and sort of like a powder. I used to have oily bits but after using mineral base for 2years it's sorted it out...or seems to have anyway :)

Hi luvlycake - thanks for your reply.

I currently use bare minerals foundation but the original one doesn't seem to help with the oily chin :( I recently bought the matte version instead and am planning on using that once my other one runs out. Maybe that will help.
ive found Laura Mercier Secret Finish Mattifying used as primer helps with my oily skin. I have blotting powders on hand too, i use the papier poudre ones here there brill for £2.30!

just layering powder does nothing for me, i just end up with what looks like goop on my face :rotfl:

I too was going to suggest switching to using a primer with mineral foundation on top. I too have an oily chin and this works for me.

I saw, lol x OK here goes, deep breath:-

"I use PCMC as a day cream only. I use it only on my face and over my eyes".

    How did I do??

So have some fess ups and a UU to report.

Went to Trafford Centre on Sunday and, in my defence, as I'm not going to be going for a while again did stock up on things:-

OPI Alcatraz Rocks. I won't even try to justify this as I am lacquer junkie and there's no cure for me!

Essie Good to Go Top Coat. Did need this as the other top coat I have (OPI) is useless. I get no shine from it.

L'Occitane Verbena Liquid Soap refill. Will need one eventually and considering it only costs £12.00 I figured it would be "cheaper" to buy this now instore than wait until I need it and then have to pay postage or bulk up to avoid postage!

LUSH Dirty soap and another soap that I can't remember the name of (can't remember if it was Godmother or Rock Star). Have opened the Dirty one and am very impressed by it. Very minty and goes well with my L'Occitane Mint Verbena scrub.

    OK, UU:-

Philosophy Christmas Cookie shower gel. Has been weird using this in Summer but am kind of sad that it has now run out. Do have a Pumpkin Pie one to open next and it seems the weather is changing just in time. Am going to wait until all my L'Occitane Jasmine & Bergamot one has gone before opening this though.
