satchaith - do you have a smartphone with internet access ?there are a few apps you could try for making extra money
have you looked at qmee? swagbucks, gifthulk, etc?
Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has replied and made suggestions and sent me motivational messagesthey have all really helped and today I am smiling.
I am signed up to swagbucks but only recently, dooyoo I tried but I just couldn't write enough reviews although may start doing the odd one or two again rather than attempt to write twenty in one go!
Aesop, which smartphone apps? I have an iPhone, used to have Nielsen but I know they don't work on iPhone, I currently have FieldAgent, I have iPoll which is slow but steady - any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Cancelled my life insurance last night ready to take out my new one this morning, reducing mine and my OH monthly outgoing of £45.00 down to £12.80 (for higher cover!). Also cancelled a direct debit of £12.72 for mortgage protection of illnesses etc that we won't miss as we couldn't remember what it was for (and would have been useful last year when I was off sick for three months but hey ho) which will mean that I can manage to do the grocery shop out of the joint account now rather than the last shop of each month coming from mine! So pretty much saves me personally about £45 a month which is fab.
Still waiting to see if this magical cheque for $300.00 arrives from GTM... hmmm.
Thank you allyou really are great! xx

Got another idea:
I don't know your circumstances, but could you take in lodgers or students, or just rent out a spare room. Do you live near an airport, a university hospital or the seaside?

Students
James-Lee Consultancy is currently looking for Host Families to accommodate international students for long and short term stays. Students would be attending boarding schools, Easter and Summer courses, language courses or UK excursions. It's not the despair, Laura. I can take the despair. usa 1 - thank you but unfortunately we live in a small rural area and only in a 2 bedroom house (albeit the second bedroom is dubious and would just about fit a bed in and nothing else!) as otherwise it is something we would have considered

HNC/D in legal services. Hopefully progressing to Uni and qualifying as a solicitor at some point. Can't wait until Monday, love learning about all things legal.
Jealous of the allotment. I really want one but I'm scared of spiders and probably to lazy to make proper use of it :rotfl:0 -

Hi everyone, I haven't had time to catch up on the thread yet as so much has gone on....will do it asap
I just had a quidco payment so am happy to add £25.23 to my kitty for august. :j
The real money making has to begin from here on in as we are putting an offer in on our first house today and am a big chunk short on the deposit! Errrmmm need to raise around £7500 in as long as it takes to complete a sale???? how long is that. I genuinely have no idea how to actually buy a house. we viewed it and I am just about to ring an offer in...then what do I do? I think I need a survey and a solicitor??? Hmmmm eekkkkk scary big world out there!!!!:eek::eek:Make £/day March: £1490.85 / £310

Catherine - normally around 10-12 weeks to complete a house sale (I am in Scotland though) Your mortgage provider may ask for proof of deposit though.
We're part way through buying and waiting for a formal mortgage offer. We approached a broker first, got our decision in principal (DIP) then out forward our offer via a solicitor.
Don't believe you need a solicitor to out forward an offer but some EAs apparently look more favourably upon it.
I never realised that after an offer is placed the EA keeps trying to flog you products (insurances etc) I keep declining, ours is through a government scheme so the insurance has to be underwritten by the Scottish Ministers. I don't think the EA believe me :rotfl:0
