£40 in £1 coins raided from the piggy bank. Had no bank bags so they are currently in sandwich bags :rotfl:

Hopefully swapping my hair tool for a crisp £10 note tomorrow.

OH brought me home flowers and ice cream. Is it bad that all I can think about is the wasted money?
  • Thanks for all the kind words everyone. Got out of hospital this afternoon, feeling tired, weak and weepy but otherwise ok.

Fairy, there's not much else to think about in hospital all day!!

  • Good morning all! Wishing everyone a lucky and loot-filled day!:D

Have been a bit hit-and-miss this last week and my mother (who had been in very poor health for some time now) took a turn for the worse and the nursing home didn't think she'd last the week.. so me and my sister did a ten-hour round trip drive yesterday up north to see her - and she's rallied quite a bit (she's a stubborn ol' cuss, just like all our family!!!) so.. who knows, she may get stronger again just to prove them all wrong or may not. Very uncertain so it's good to have something like this to focus my mind!!

So.....£5.25 recieved via Paypal from Crowdology - and I've finally got my act together and started doing surveys again every day now, so have a few more building up again nicely, maybe even ready to harvest before the end of the month.

And....Just printed off my £5.00 off voucher for Lidl to use tomorrow when I do my shop there.

Also managed to list half a dozen items on ebay at the weekend, didn't have a lot of time due to the family stuff but got a few pairs of winter boots on and some odds, quite a lot of watchers already and one small 99p bid on a t-shirt of DS's that he doesn't wear any more, so hopefully a few pennies to come there!

PLMBL - so sorry to read your sad news - huge hugs to you, and wishing you all the best, sending thoughts of kindness and caring your way x x

You'll soon give up with the rm surveys, takes a lot of work for only a tenners worth of stamps a month. I managed 6 months, I gave in when they asked that I send a letter and parcel everyday inc Sunday's at the same time from various locations for a month. The £10 wouldn't of even covered petrol!

I would love to tell you all what I'm up to but the Ex reads the thread and there's some things he just doesn't need to know ;):D I'll let you know in a year if it's paid off :D

Just sold another item on eBay for £15, all helping with the holiday spends. Deffo doing a car boot this weekend as my students leave on sunday morning :j and I've been offered some help. I feel like del boy as I've got a load of phone and iPad covers to flog as well as body shop stuff :D just call me Trotter ;)

Also, remember a few months ago I had a refund from Tesco for my broken Hoover as Vax wouldn't exchange due to 'lost' paperwork? Well, I've only gone and had an email from UPS saying a 20kg parcel is on its way to me from Vax! :D so with any luck I'll have a new Hoover and a refund :D:D I'll sell it if it does show up as I bought a dyson instead a few months ago :D that should get me about £50 ;)

Thanks for the heads-up re RM surveys.

My guess it your have brought a mini bus for all your students..:p

Had a nice long conversation with HSBC yesterday about my overdraft: essentially I received a letter saying they need me to pay off my £1100 overdraft this week (I got the email a couple of weeks ago) so I gave them a call. First lady says that it is fine, just a general letter but because the OD is in credit there will be no further action... I'm a bit overcautious when it comes to money so asked to her to double check which she then reassures me is all ok.

So I call the number on the letter rather than HSBC general line and they said that they were in fact withdrawing it. I explained that last year I had health issues etc and that this year so far I have paid back around £4k so things are on the up, but that like a sensible person I'm paying off the ones with highest interest.

Anyway long story short, the second lady was very helpful and they've agreed that I can pay back £100 a month (which is what I had started doing) and each month after this payment date they with lower my OD allowance by that amount.

So really it was just to say that it is definitely worth calling people and speaking to them, I must admit I had a massive panic when I got the letter and started trying to figure out where I could get the money from, but turns out they were fine and just wanted to know I could do it ok.

Also, sensibly I've looked at my two credit cards and my overdraft and rather than paying them all off equally, I'm paying the minimum (plus a fiver for paranoias sake!) off the 0% for 22 months one and then whacking up the payment on the other two - something I should have done to start with but for some reason in my head it was nicer to pay off the same to each one.

Anywho... I am basically on a major scrounge to try to get extra money saved up and am desperately running out of ideas.

I'm signed up to pretty much every survey site and going through them all, I check market research sites x 3 each day, FieldAgent, TextBroker, signed up to Fiverr and FiveSquids yesterday (although not holding much hope), done craft bits but had to stop as insurance was too high, checking voucher codes, eBayed/FB'd most of my posessions and made sure that all my direct debits are accounted for (need to change life insurance and save about £300 a year but that's the last one). And now I'm stuck.

I read somewhere about answering questions online but none of them are taking people, also about writing subtitles but have no idea where to look and google doesn't seem to like it.

If anyone has any ideas that I have missed, pleased feel free to let me know as I am on a real motivational low at the moment, which is a shame as I know deep down that I have improved so much since last year!

Sorry for the long post, I've checked here and the up your income board so many times in the hope I might hit a brainwave that I've missed!

Off to try to comp now.....

    Love x
