Cousin sold her house and now unable to get mortgage to buy another

She's the most irresponsible person I know.
she's nothing but a sponger.Could she be full time carer to her mum instead of her going into a home? She would be entitled to something then (carer's allowance?), and her mum could (presumably) keep the house.
If I were her Mum, I don't think I'd want her to be my carer.0 -
Present herself as homeless at the local council, or pay for 6 months rent in advance for a private rental.
This ^^ If her Mum is in sheltered housing then the family definitely shouldn't be staying with her. So the family is 'homeless' and that would raise the priority with the council for housing.
But ... if she doesn't want to work, didn't think ahead after selling the house, and is currently sponging off her mother ... has she even got the inclination to go to the local council and ask?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Perhaps the cousin can move in with the OP.
I've already said there's no chance of this. She's not a nice person and she's definitely not moving in with me.
AFK Matrix, where did I say she has no deposit? She has a small deposit which she borrowed from her brother.
She could never be her mum's full time carer. She would just, going on past form, neglect and distress the mum so that's not even an option.
She has got herself in a right mess and when her mum goes into residential care she will be on the streets unless she can sort herself out.
She has no idea how to manage financially without the kids' dad and just doesn't know where to start - she seems to be burying her head in the sand and hoping it'll all go away:(0 -
My best suggestion for this lady is that she stays at her mums house, if her mum is put into residential care then she will Eventaully be evicted from her mums home and the council will have to rehouse her, probably at first in Band B but better than nothing!0

Not that she'd stand a cat in hell's chance of getting a mortgage anyway, but a 'borrowed deposit' would be a non-starter anyway. Would need to be gifted. Same applies for using credit cards and the suchlike.

Well, couldn't she just say the deposit was gifted then? How would a lender know otherwise if the brother was happy to go along with it all and say he gifted the deposit to his sister?0 -
Don't know where to start here, the threads gone from - my cousin sold her house and now cannot get a mortgage... To I don't like her, she's not moving in with me, she's not a nice person, she cannot care for her mother, she's crap with money, unemployed, and not looking for work, not interested in working, father has apparently left the country.. Lol what more is there to say/advise? She is 51 years old, she should be have some life experience by now, and have sorted her life out - sorry no sympathy or help fro me on this one - the poor fukwit tax payer - me included- will no doubt be fronting the cost of this no- hoper0
