  • Do what you do for most threads, and look on google, as you obviously don't know the facts.

Constable it's clear to anyone tachos are not your area of expertise.

Only thing I'd add to that is be aware of if they actually can overtake. e.g. if it's a lorry and they're currently being overtaken by another lorry going at 0.1mph faster, or a constant stream of 70mph cars who themselves are being overtaken at 90 then no matter what you do you aren't going to get them to move over, save it for when there is a suitable opportunity to overtake else you risk just winding the idiot up some more and causing them to do something even more stupid/dangerous.

Yes sure. Luckily the single lane roads where I live aren't fast like the motorway. I don't get lorries tailgating on single roads. Just on the motorway where they have room to pull out in the second lane. Actually I personally find lorries come up close initially then fall back to settle in behind me at a decent distance.

What is probably happening there is the lorry driver is trying to overtake you without tying up the middle lane for the next 10 miles, so they build up a bit of speed by getting close then when they put their signal on to pull out, some moron in the middle lane decides they don't want a lorry in front of them so puts their foot down to close up the gap.

Personally I wouldn't drive at below lorry speed on the motorway, yes it's legal and you're totally within your rights to do so but it's still a pretty obnoxious thing to do, and besides 56mph lorry speed is often the most fuel efficient speed to drive at.

    Where did I say that?

Why do you have to make the forum miserable for others?

I can't believe all the inaccurate assumptions here. I NEVER said I drive below lorry speed limit on the motorway. I drive perfectly normally on the motorway.

You people seem to have decided you are going to twist words to suit your biased agenda.

    I pity the poor OP.

    Grow up.

Tailgating can happen to anyone. Motorway speed ebbs and flows. Its not instant 70mph. In fact on the M20 and M25 in rush hour you'll be lucky to do 30mph.

I think you and Google are in bed together.
Not as common as you make out though.

Unlike your thread posts in general, which have nothing in common with the general consensus.

Officer Carter must of been on leave that day. The whole world would of been committing crime, as he seems to have a big Jurisdiction .

But also you have the I'm doing 70, (text removed by MSE Forum Team), which is why the new law about lane hogging has been brought into force.
