That was the point I was making about absences from school - they're not allowed to authorise them any more.0 -
And you questioned my parenting skills, I think you'd find that allowing a 13 year old to stay home alone is against the law. And now my daughter is a liar. My daughter does want to come as I've said we are a close family and enjoy our time togethe
There are no laws regarding what age children need to have reached to be left home alone - only guidelines.0 -
So now it's gone from original post about her daughter not getting time off work to her childrens' absences from school not being authorised (even though OP says it is).
I find it really weird here sometimes. You occasionally get people who don't write very well or English is not their first language who other forum users are very polite and respectful to and understanding of this, and this OP who speaks *text speak* - maybe for speed and/or makes the occasional spelling/grammatical error is immediately pounced on and assumptions made about her parenting skills and how she writes on a forum. I'm not saying I agree with text speak but it's not the crime of the century. Also, if she gets her points across adequately with text speak then what is wrong with that?! No need to disrespect her about her usage of it.
How sad that this should escalate from a simple question (and OP didn't fight back that much, just defended herself) into a slanging match. It seems like a lot of the time here it's point scoring.
If some people are so impolite to others as to use textspeak, they can't expect their readers to treat them with much respect.0 -

Oh for God's sake, what planet are you on, join in, in the real world, if you think that's impolite perhaps you need to step out your front door abit more often, and if you act like you do on here out there I'm very sure you will encounter some very impolite people along the way, and I shouldn't think they would be using txt talk probably the finger0 -
I don't know, all I know is that schools authorised our holiday in may
That is why I brought the subject up but then get slated by a poster for going off topic (which I acknowledged in that post) and you agreed with them, believe it or not, most people have been trying to help you on here.
There is no law that says you cant leave a 13 yr old kid alone but if any harm comes to that kid then you are responsible.;)Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -

I agreed with the point she was making about people's comments about parenting skills etc most people have been very helpful and I thank them for that, my child is 17 another person mentioned being left alone at 130 -

See, using textspeak actually did indicate the sort of person you are.;)

I wasn't asking you for your opinion on school absences, as for txt speaking indicating the person I am, you have no idea. You are obviously very easily affended if that's all it takes perhaps you should read back over your comments about txt talk, and then you can surely see how pathetic they are, as I said if something this trival affends you perhaps it's better you do stay in your own little world.0
