Thanks Hypno and Evab! Its just plans at the moment...but I'm hoping by writing it down I'll fix myself to doing it...because I want to - I just need to put the work in now to get to a good standard of fitness and pray for no injuries before April!0

and me!!!!!!!!!!!! (message was too short)0 -
Eeeek - do I need to get a proper coach i.e. a real live one?? The last thing I want is to be the slowest elite runner there :rotfl:
Also do I need to think about weights and other things as well as running training now??
Have I done my usual thing of setting the bar too high I wonder...:o
Hehe Have you managed to scare yourself now?
Yep, I think you definitely need a real live coach - they're far better than the dead variety!;)
The best thing is you get a clear start, but you can't end up in an embarassing situation, because the whole mass field, men and women, will be merging with you by 12 miles.
Weights are not really an issue, but sit ups and press ups will come into the equation later.
And there's no point in setting easy targets, so go for it!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
Blackpool Marathon 11/4/2010 (Target=2:59:59) (6:52/mile)
Abingdon Marathon 17/10/2010, (Target=2:48:57) (6:27/mile)

Awww thanks coachie! I feel better already actually...I know I can do it and I really want to, even if I get my target time for London this year I should finish in around the top 100 women in my age group - how amazing is that!!!!!
I want to say I never thought I'd be any good at this running lark - its amazing how much of it is sheer determination rather than any skill - thats what I love about it - its a great equaliser among sports from the girl that hated PE and running at school!
By the way - Rich your feats and targets are still more impressive than mine, its get my competitive side out when you post great itmes and is already inspiring me to work harder!0 -
right folks help please, feeling better but have an irritating cough which doesn't seem to be clearing. I have medicine, medicated mouthwash and nothing seems to be helping - any remedies?
Ev x0 -
I swear by buttercup syrup
And honey, ginger and lemon tea!
But really your body needs time to recover from a nasty cold and its often the cough thats last to go - be careful pushing the running while you've still got it as it can be hard work on the chest!0 -
thanks becky will have to try that, I'm not running until cough has gone as don't want to end up having a coughing fit whilst out - not a great look to see me red faced, runny nose and watery eyes (and that's without the cough he he)0
