  • I meant to say i got some queer looks at swimming last night when i attempted to take my heart rate.......

didn't get a viable reading though.. so plan to take it on sunday during run...

I'm still clinically dead today at 52bpm...

52 is good! But it is actually lower than that, because your true resting pulse is after laying down for 30 mins.

    Virtually a walking corpse I'd say! ;)

  • I'm not sure whether you'll be on over the weekend so just in case:

GOOD LUCK to Idiophreak and Poodlecrazy in the Swansea 10k on Sunday.

It's right by the sea front, so no real hills to speak of, sadly.

Thanks for the good wishes though, guys - gotta be worth a minute or two off my time :D
  • Good luck you two!! :D

I had to walk home from work today (no money for bus), then got changed and went for a run as soon as I got back. Felt better warmed up than usual due to the walking, and the breathing was definitely easier but legs were tired, so only managed 1.5 miles, ran it all except for maybe a minute when I got tangled up with a load of teenagers and dogs in the park! Took me 15 mins.

Recovering now with spaghetti and beer

Dont you just hate it when you get tangled up with teenagers and dogs. I tend to avoid running when they are going to or coming from school. They always seem so unaware of their environment.

Yep - I suppose at least they were out walking through the park instead of causing trouble.. they take up so much room though! Have to fight through them in the corridors at work so could do without them in my running territory too  Couldn't run round as it was a fence on one side and a pond on the other :rotfl:

What is even worse is when people try to stop you to ask for directions. There are loads of people around and they pick out the person who has somewhere to go ....quickly!
