Hiya guys,

As for bank talk, I'm trying not to think too much about it just worrying quietly he he.
At last got myself sortedish with only the mortgage to go but as you said rich at least HBOS and lloyds are merging so I surpose that means my mortgage is okish and I can move on and worry about the W10 instead:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:lost 3stin 4mnths GC nov£90/£51.65 July£100/£97.67 Aug£90/£18.59LBM Nov05 Loan £4910.65 Paid April07 sealed pot challenge#256Nov06 CC £2,590.56 Paid aug07 + Savings07/08 Night Owl 22#Mortgage £87,000/£84,000/ £82,261.00/£81,785.30 £80,268/£75402.00/£71229.15 DFW NERD 987 Long Haul member 125 debt free 24th aug 070 -
jeeez!!! as a mortgage advisor I am terrified how this is going to affect my business. vast majority is done via HBOS!!!! ***starts looking for new career***
Not good news. Presumably you can do more business with others instead (not that there is a lot of business for you guys at the mo except maybe re-mortgages)? My mortgage is with the C&G, which I believe now belongs to Lloyds (it's hard to keep up!) so I may be affected, at least when my fix ends.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Kenneth Clarke is saying this is the biggest crisis since at least the war. With an ex-Chancellor saying that and the current Chancellor saying its the worst for 60 years theres trouble ahead.
Centrica is now in trouble - British gas etc.
PS Beer Tins - Being an insider do you know why HBOS collapsing would have a domino effect on most of the energy companies. They seem to be first in the firing line getting shorted like mad at the moment.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

The only sliver lining I can see is the rapidly falling oil price. Hopefully that will put the brakes on inflation a bit. The falls are slightly tempered by the rising $ value though.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0

yes we are doing more with other lenders but they just aren't competitive with rates. people are sometimes better off staying with their existing lender on varaiable rate...
PS i'm a re-mortgage specialist wink wink heheheh.
Right off out for a meeting with my boss. wish me luck!!

See you.
We were round friends of ours last night and they said they were holding back on sending in the paperwork for their re-mortgage as it's not that much better than their SVR so they might as well stay on that for the flexibility.
Are you recently re-branded as a re-mortgage specialist?
Good luck with the boss!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Trouble is re-mortgaging needs equity and that seems to be evaporating into thin air plus the availability of credit is just as bad for remortgages. So, I'm afraid it looks like a batten down the hatches time.
PS I'm sure it will all be back to cheery news and Beer Tin's picturesque morning sunrises by tomorrow!!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

There are still loads of people with loads of equity in their homes, so it's still much healthier for re-mortgages. The levels of equity are falling rapidly as you say, though.
Yes more sunrises etc. in tomorrows posts please!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0
