That's great about the running club Maz, considering how much you're enjoying the swimming lessons I have a feeling you're going to love it :)

Gearing myself up here for my first run.. am tempted to skip the gym and just get changed and walk/ jog/ run home...

  • erm hardly!!!

but y'know you're progress is really inspirational.... i'm sure you arrived to this thread after i got here... you're doing a half mara and i'm still pootleing about at 2 miles once or twice a week.........

i really need to get my finger out.....

It has got to help if a session or two are built in to your normal routine so it becomes as automatic as waking up in a morning.

It's that dilemma about 'where do I fit in' when theres already a full schedule and no way of getting more than 24 hours in a day!

You could, of course, put the family on ebay and kill 2 birds with one stone - free up lots of time and make a bit of cash in the process - very MSE ish :rotfl: (I am expecting a slap for this one btw, and I think I'm owed one for that previous post as well, you do seem tame today!)

Will it save you money if you skip the gym, go tomorrow instead at lunchtime or something... if you have the urge to run home, then i'd be inclined to take that urge while it is there!!

I think I was here first actually..:p No I think you joined the day before I did...whats 1 day between running friends! but anyway I was already quite fit in the fact that I swam 2 hours a week and walked/cycled everywhere. I really did struggle at the start but since March I have only missed 2 weeks when I haven't run so I guess sticking to it really does help.

Nah it's free (work gym) but it closes at 6, so I'd have to go fairly soon. I have to walk home anyway cos I've got no change for bus fare so am thinking I may as well combine the two...

Maz, you joined on the 9th April and me on the 10th!! Must have been the build up to the marathon that inspired us back then :)

Red skip the gym and just run home..fresh air outside is surely better than stuck in a sweaty gym

    Snaggles,

Have you been asked whether you want to join our club yet?

I think there are lots of people who would want you to!
Sally mentioned it yesterday I think, and I meant to read back and find out what it's all about, because I just sort of launched myself into the thread without reading it all (sorry :o).

Why would lots of people want me to - cos I will make you all look good?? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

But yes, I would love to join......I think......bearing in mind I am not sure what it entails! :D

Ahh you sell it so well - yes it is fresh air, not nasty rainy damp air... okey dokey, report back in a while!
